Rani Mukherjee in Melbourne and sydney

ONE of India's biggest film stars, Rani Mukherjee, and Rajkumar Hirani, director of the highest grossing Hindi film, 3 Idiots, will visit Melbourne and Sydney for the upcoming Indian Film Festival. Mukherjee will open the festival and feature in a retrospective of her films. The festival will also feature two free screenings in Federation Square: the first, 3 Idiots, will be introduced by Hirani on March 11, and the second is the Bollywood film shot in Melbourne, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, which will be introduced by producer-actor Sohail Khan. Other guests at the festival, called Bollywood and Beyond, include the director of Mukherjee's new film, Dil Bole Hadippa, Anurag Singh. The fest will also highlight genre films being produced in India. It is in Melbourne from March 10, Sydney from March 12 and Perth from March 25. Details at www.iff2010.com.
