Excellent singing by one of the most undeservingly unnoticed singers we have! By which I mean she deserves more recognition from the masses as well as the music/film industry.

I cannot fault the singing at all. Mahalaxmi's voice is exceptionally warm and soothing and flows beautifully between the higher and lower notes. Her sur is as perfect as my ears can detect.

But it is her many nuances that take the song to another level. She knows when to bring in a subtle harkat; when to soften her voice; when to end a word punchily and when to extend a word into a longer tune.

Many Kavita fans would miss their favourite in this competition but Mahaxmi seems to be carrying the torch high. She does remind me of the Kavita school of singing. And in this song I cannot fault Mahalaxmi. But I will refrain from giving out tens just yet, so it is a 9.5 out of 10 from me. (9 if 9.5 is not available)

A great singing performance from Mahalaxmi. I always have thought she has one of the best voices for any female playback singer. Whenever I am listening to a song and I don't know she sang it, I say "What a great voice" on the female. This one is no exception. Though I think this song didn't have that much to offer overall with respect to difficulty and range. The parts she sang were great, rather slow, but still she did them well. Overall, good performance.
