pratap's parents come to the naming ceremony n say that they want the baby to be named "Pratap". Pratap's mother takes the baby from shyam's hands n kiss him. She asks forgiveness from suguna and says that if suguna had not remarried, they wld have taken her n the baby with them. But now that she is married, she ask suguna to give the baby to her since it is pratap's aakri nishani.
maasa gets angry and says that they remembered their DIL only now. She reminds them of how they came to their house to ask them to accept suguna and how they were insulted. She snatches the baby from pratap's mother.
pratap's father too starts asking for the baby. madan is abt to get up but tausa stops him n says that if they take the baby, its good for them. bhairav n shyam too oppose in giving the baby to them. pratap's mother again asks for forgiveness and goes to take the baby but suguna takes it from maasa's hands n says that she will not give the baby to anyone. maasa asks them not to create any trouble n to leave the place. pratap's mother says to suguna that her in-laws will never accept the baby. shyam says that he is the father of the baby n so, the baby will get his name n gotra.
tausa says that baby shld get the gotra of his father. shyam cuts in n says that he is the father n asks pratap's parents to leave from there.
pratap's father says that he will take the matter to panchayat. The sarpanch gets up n says that everyone from panchayat is here only n so they can decide now. Entire panchayat supports shyam n maasa n asks pratap's parents to go from there.
after pratap's parents leave, maasa tells the name of the baby. its varun. later shyam n suguna are in their room. suguna thanks shyam for supporting her. shyam tells that it is his duty. he helps suguna in removing her jewellery. they have a sweet moment n both look into the mirror.
