Irrespective of what attracts one in another, most successful relationships last because people are willing to set their differences aside and meet mid-way. Those who just can't do it usually fall flat on their faces. If respect is there, partners would not mind walking that extra mile towards each other to make their relationship last.

I agree with Gauri Di.

Irrespective of the type of what in which you meet, arranged, gradual love or love at first sight, it's staying in the relationship for the kind of time you should that counts. You don't just discover new things about someone in an "opposites attract at first sight situation". My parents have had an arranged marriage, are together since almost 19 years, still my mum keeps saying she discovers new things about my father every now and then. Because people change, any characteristic, good or bad, would change as well. It's all about how much you're willing to give nowadays. And from what I see around, no one is so willing to accept only the first 50%. That's why the divorce rate is so high if you ask me. Everyone refuses to give an extra 1% to make it 51%. If they did, night come, the problems would have lessened at home.
