Bengali show soon to be adapted for Star Plus

Star Plus has now joined hands with a relatively new producer, Ravi Ojha. The yet untitled project is an adaptation of a popular Bengali show, Ogo Bondhu Sundori, produced by Ojha for Star Jalsa. The popular Bengali serial is an endearing story of a bond a mother-in-law shares with her daughter-in-law.

A source informs, "Ogo Bodhu Sundori traces the story of Lolita (Ritabhari Chakraborty), a rich, spoilt motherless girl who marries at her father's insistence. But she soon finds a mother in her mother-in-law and over a period of time becomes a perfect bride under the guidance of her loving, patient and affectionate mother-in-law, Shailaja Lahiri (Tulika Basu)."

"The production house is considering two names - Ragini Khanna and Anisha Kapoor to play the protagonist. Mahesh Thakur has been finalised to play a pivotal role in the show. Supriya Pilgaonkar too was approached to play an important character."

While Pilgaonkar denied being a part of the show, Thakur said, "Nothing is confirmed yet." Both Ragini and Anisha too refused to comment on it.

Producer Ojha confirmed making a show for Star Plus but refused to divulge any details of the same.

With the show being a run-away success on the Bengali channel, hope the adaptation too works wonder for Star Plus.
