I wrote the following post originally as a reply for some other post but I thought since I have finally decided to voice my opinion I should make a separate post as well!
Every time there was a replacement for Ridhima there was a drop in fan following! BUT, since Karan was so good at romancing all the Ridhimas, and developed beautiful chemistry with every Ridhima; the FAN Following and the TRP's would rise again. Therefore, there is no way anyone would accept another Arman!! It's ONLY and ONLY KSG.
Someone suggested earlier about chaitanya choudhary or Apurva Agnihotri replacing Arman, Honestly I love both the actors a lot and have seen all their serials and loved them in the serials and admired their work...but if one thinks logically considering the work they have done and the kind of persona they have they will never be able to pull off the character of Arman as beautifully as KSG did. And I am not saying this as a KSG's fan b'coz I was never his fan, on the contrary I hated him as I knew him as "Sharad" the "Villan" from "Kasauti Zindagi Ki" and I was so against him etc etc...and when I started viewing DMG I was shocked that who would take him as an actor lolz...Initially I watched the show b'coz of it's good script and Shilpa but within a month my views towards KSG changed completely, and by every passing month I was speechless as his acting was improving so drastically and it was becoming so awesome that anyone would fall in love with him in that character...and b'coz I am a witness to that I am sure that nobody will be able to pull of the character as he has done it!! And just to prove my point I would like to mention some serials that replaced their main lead and suffered on TRP's massively:
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi:-
When the serial originally started with Amar Upadhyay as the charming Mihr Virani it was the best serial on TV and when Ekta killed him after 2 years or something like that, there was a revolution in the country...no one neither was able to digest the fact that he is dead nor was anyone able to accept any replacement for him! Thus, Ekta had to bring him back, but he could not give much time or whatever the reason, so eventually Ekta went in for a leap of 20 years and finally brought in Ronit Roy who did justice to the character of middle aged Mihr.
Kasauti Zindagi Ki.:-
1. Replacement of Manoj Bohra with Vikas Sethi killed the character of prem (Although I love both actors, but the charisma Manoj carried out in his character prem no body could have done that!!)
2. Replacement of Chezane Khan by Hiten Tejwani killed the character of Anurag (although Hiten is my all time favourite actor b'coz of kutumb but people were unable to accept him as Anurag coz he could not create the magic in the character as Chezane did!!)
Kahin to Hoga:-
Rajeev khandelwal as Sujal was an immortal character; although his replacement tried his best but he was unable to live up to the image the original sujal had created in the minds of the viewer!!
Karam Apna Apna:-
Iqbal Khan as Shiv Kapoor replaced by Yash Tonk destroyed the character of Shiv completely!!
All these shows started off awesome but due to the replacements they never reached the highs they used to with the original actor's and had to go off air eventually! The main reason is:-- the original characters were chosen to play the roles b'coz the directors and the creative's, or who ever that deals with the selection of actors knew that these actors fit the role in the script!! And when they replace them regardless of any reason, they know deep in their hearts that, it is their loss!!
The conclusion is that some characters are meant to be for certain actors and no one else can play it better then the respective actors no matter how much one likes the other actor who is replacing the original one. The character of ridhima was not a unique character and therefore all the ridhima's were able to pull it off, and they did a fabulous job. But the character of Arman will be dead if any actor replaces KSG!!
Among the new interns the creative's wrote Karan Wahi's character somewhat similar to that of Arman but he was unable to charm the audience as KSG did, although karan wahi is a very good actor and has done some good work before DMG!!
I'll give you a rational example....
1. Imagine Kareena Kapoor replaced from Jab we met by any other top actress??? Not acceptable!! Role was meant for her and only she could justify it!!
2. Imagine Saif Ali Khan replaced in Hum Tum or Love Aaj Kal???
3. Sharukh Khan replaced in DDLJ, KKHH, or any of his all time fav romantic hits???
4. Amir Khan replaced in 3 Idiots???
Not Acceptable!! There are very few strong characters in film's or Tv Serial's!! And there are very few actors or sometimes only one actor that can do justice to those particular characters!! And they are irreplaceable!!
So all my logical and critical analysis is just requesting/saying/warning the CV'S that ONLY KSG can justify to the character of Arman!! And therefore they should think about it logically too...After all it is their money that would be at risk!! And no matter what at the end of the day it is all about the fact that whether the money is rolling or not?? :S
P.S I am a women and a feminist too...so whatever KSG did in his personal life I am really disappointed in him! Although I really feel bad for shradha but as far as KSG is concerned whatever he does in his personal life I don't really care about it...for me he is just an actor (The best actor for the character of Arman). It is my personal opinion based on years of research probably from the time of Dilip Kumar till date half the people in the film and TV fraternity are like that...it's just unfortunate for KSG that his affairs/scandals became public!!
