| Director Indra Kumar and producer Ashok Thakeria have wrapped up Pyare Mohan, starring Fardeen Khan, Viveik Oberoi, Esha Deol and Amrita Rao. Shooting the last song with the quartet at Priyadarshini Park, Napeansea Road, the duo looked a picture of confidence.
Said Thakeria, "Pyare Mohan has worked out very well. It's the story of a deaf man (Viveik Oberoi) and a blind man (Fardeen Khan). They were not born with the handicap, but an unfortunate accident in their profession (they are stuntmen) led to them."

"There have been stories with handicapped people in India, but more often than not, the lighter side has not been tapped. We have kept the emotions intact, but treated the characters and their problems in a humorous way," added the director.
The cast too was buoyant about the film. While Fardeen told hitList that he had observed a few characters who had played blind men, especially an Englishman who acted in Contact, Viveik said he preferred to do it without watching any deaf portrayals. Sensitive roles
Said Fardeen, "It's a challenging role and I haven't used dark glasses; the role comes with a certain responsibility and sensitivity. There have been funny moments, though. Sometimes, there is a distraction and I forget I am blind."
"I am a lazy guy and a director's actor. I didn't feel like watching any characters from the past who have enacted such roles on the big screen," offered Viveik.
In the film, Amrita Rao (Pia) falls in love with Viveik, while Esha (Preeti) romances Fardeen. Said Esha, "Amrita and I play wannabe pop-stars. We have come to Mumbai to make a name for ourselves."
Pyare Mohan, which started in August 2005, has been shot in Mumbai and Bangkok. |
