Nala-Damayanthi saga in CB?

The story of Nala and Damayanthi has always fascinated me. As I remember, my father told me this story in my childhood. I will share with you people. Later, as I grew upI realized, it has a real message for our life.

Nala was master of all Skills. He was famous for his cooking skill, horse riding and mathematical calculations.Even todayit is prevalent when one cooks a delicious recipe people refers it as "Nala paaka"."Paaka" means recipe and Nala means "Nala" like. Damayanthi was the most beautiful girl and pricess of Vidharbha. Also, she was daughter of Bhima Sena. That is why this story is a sub plot in Mahabharatha. Damayanthi falls in love with Nala at first sight. She wanted to marry him in Swayamwara. In spite of many tricks from cunning Indra and his associates, she ends up in winning Nala. They both get married.Their romance was at pinnacle and the pair was famous for their love. Later their romantic married life went through lot of hardship and finally prevailed over the evil.

The trouble started when the Kali (Shani) was instigated by cunning Indra that Damayanthi has rejected him and chose Nala over him. Kali took a oath to destroy Nala. Shani took over Nala and Nala ended up in forest. Both Nala and Damayanthi lead a difficult life. Nala who was totally in love with his wife Damayanthi couldn't see her in pain. He realised that Kali won't leave him so soon. He knew that the pricess is going through pain because she loves him to the core. He was sad that he had to put her through sorrow only because of his fate. He decided leave Damayanthi for the sake her safety and her better life.Thus a truely loving couple got separated.

Damayanthi reached her mother's sister's house and tried all possible ways to look for Nala. Nala reached Ayodhya (I think) kingdom and started living as a manager of horse stable. Every day and night both husband and wife were longing for their spouses. Their love grew stronger as their pain of separation grew.

And Story continues....

Why am I telling this now?

Looks like CB is headed in this way. Like Nala and Damayanthi, both Dev and Radhika are poised for leaving separately. May be within same building like PB or may be at distant like Delhi and VR. Thier romantic life has been attacked by Shani Vishaka. May be Radhika will deject Dev for the betterment of Dev.

We were all predicting "when" will Vishaka turn negative and today was the answer. I think we are going to see Nala Damayanthi separation, longingness and love in Dev and Radhika in coming days. When Kalishadows the mind, people act weird. That's what happened to Radhika also.

By the way, this is the reason people don't name their kids Damayanthi or Sita. Parents fear that their girl will also end up in spearating from her husband and has to live the life of hardship.

Loved it..Very educational..And am glad I learn about it..thank you.

I also think that as this is a serial..the most common used track in love-stories is probably 'seperation' and 'misunderstanding'. Also these problems are a part of life..one of the ups and downs between couples. I was sure that will occur in CB..and i was right. I have nothing against it because i know at the end everything will be fine and that one day or another it would come.

I also think that this might relate to CB as most of it is based on a religious program....I am happy to know that in the end Nala-Damayanthi united and i'm sure that will happen Radev too. 😊

Rightchoice - very enlightening and a very good post. Well looks like creatives are heading in this direction and might try to separate RadhDev once again. But please don't wish to see further separations since we had enough of it for the last one year.

Good post rightchoice.On the wedding day when Rad goes to pray at Shiv mandir she prays that she has love like Sita and on that day itself I was thinking that her post married life may end up like that of Sita.On the same day when Dev telephones her she says I am afraid of coming to PB Dev says you will find everything changed except me.All these twists are leading to that.

very nice analysis....it seems like the creatives are headed in that direction. But It makes no sense...after taking a whole god damn year to get them together and now after only after a few days of marriage, they already have plans for their separation?? They got damn lucky with the burning track (TRPs were still up until now), they will not be so lucky this time if they try to separate them already. Maybe this is just all hoax to create more anticipation and TRPs.

Banibond - You know, TRPs will raise proportional to the pain Rad suffers. So TRP never looks bright whenever we feel enjoying the serial. It usually happens other way. For past 1 week we were comfortable with this serial and TRPs were low. You just see, when Vishaka starts torturing Radhika and when she starts crying TRPs go sky rocketing. Thats the way it is. We form minor group who wants everything in right way. 😊 😊

Rightchoice ..You are absolutely right. I am a business person, so I am interested in these kind of things ... TRPs, customer reaction, etc. I am amazed at how TRPs rise when there is a lot of drama ... and fall when everything is quiet and happy. Most of the Top 10 shows now have some kind of separation, fight, something going on that keeps the leads in a state of perpetual anguish. We are a vocal group ... but a handful and very much in the minority

As I was running the scenario by an acquaintance of mine, she told me that she would definitely not be interested in seeing lovey dovey, goody goody stuff all the time ... it would be too boring

I understand there is a huge demand for drama and not just lovey dovey stuff...even i would get sick of it, but there's a big difference b/w good drama and pure negativity and evilness that is constant in this show, since the inception. It wouldn't hurt them to show the main female lead with some brains every now and then. But I guess that is what the majority prefers. I hope nothing of the sort we fear happens to RaDev and they are able to over come the hurtles w/out being punished a life long of separation.
