2005 perhaps saw the most number of established and not so established singers/performers from the world of Bollywood trying their luck in coming up with their own private albums. There were Asha Bhonsle, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Babul Supriyo, Kunal Ganjawala, Abhijeet Sawant, Rahula Vaidya, Amit Sana and Qazi/Ruprekha to name a few. This year too has begun on a good note with Himesh Reshammiya and Shaan releasing their private albums.
Now its the turn of yesteryear glam doll turned vamp/character artist Kunika to debut as a singer. After acted in numerous films and tele-serials, she has chosen to get behind the mike as she aspires to be known as a singer. Her upcoming album features 5 remixes and 3 original numbers while music videos would be out for one from each category. Looking every inch a glamorous'n'sexy woman, she is sure to come up with a knockout performance in the videos that feature her.
As per her, she had an inclination towards singing from class 8th itself but then got busy to build her modeling and acting career. Also it was difficult for her to ask people for giving her a chance to sing when all her energies were utilized in her early struggle during her acting phase. Meanwhile her passion for singing never died as she continued to get trained from reputed music gurus (that continues till date).
Today, she takes this private album as a stepping stone towards a career in playback singing that she always wanted in the first place. Watch out Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal!
