Shiv and parvati are discussing about Ganesh's popularity and ashtavinayak temples. Shivji tells parvati that after siddheshwar there is a story behind ballaleshwar temple and we introduce ballals family. Ballal's father kalyan enquires with his wife indumati about ballal's whereabouts. He learns that ballal is busy performing pooja of lord ganesh.kalyan is furious that rather than learning the business ballal is wasting his time praying. He goes to the pooja ghar and destroys it. He threatens ballal that he he will give away the ganesh idol to some temple.ballal is heartbroken. Siddhi and buddhi are discussing with ganesh that how could kalyan be so ruthless towards his son. Ganesh makes them understand that is the journey of 'bhakti' and one has to suffer.He also says that ballal will gain a lot owing to his unconditional faith in me. Ballal is in his school and the teacher notices that he is very sad.
He learns from the other kids about the happenings at ballal's house. He pacifies ballal and tells him not to worry. He tells him that he will go to his house and ask his father kalyan for the ganesh idol.teacher goes to ballal's house and meets kalyan. When kalyan learns that the teacher has come for the ganesh idol, he gets furious and throws him out of the house. Ballal witnesses this and is shocked.

In kailash parvati is shocked to see kalyan's attitude towards the teacher and ballal.shiv tells her that when a man gains wealth he tends to do such misdeeds.yet there comes a time when such people have to pay dearly for their sins. Back in school the teacher is apologetic towards ballal for not keeping his promise of getting the ganesh idol back. He consoles ballal by telling him that it is not mandatory to have an idol of ganesh in order to offer prayers to him.he assures ballal if he has faith he can pray to any thing that even slightly resembles ganesha. Ballal is excited to know this and he decides to go to the forest and pray to lord ganesh. A few of the kids also decide to be a part of it. The kids decide to go to the forest and look for an appropriate place for their prayer activity. while in the woods ballal happens to see a stone which resembles the face of lord ganesha. He is elated and decides to pray to the stone. All the kids place the idol and get busy in creating a worship place for lord ganesha and after doing so pray to the lord.ballal tells his mother that from tomorrow he would come home late as the teacher has given the kids some extra curricular activities.the kids on the sly pray to lord ganesh regularly.on one of the occasions the kids get to immersed in their prayer and it gets too late to go home. Back home the parents of the kids are worried as they havnt yet reached home. They go looking for them.indumati is worried that ballal is still not home. Kalyan accuses indumati of being an irresponsible mother.parvati tells shiv that its wrong on kalyan's part to accuse indumati as she is at no fault. The parents reach the jungle and see the kids engrossed in ganesh pooja. The parents are infuriated and they take their kids with them.they reach ballal's house and complain to kalyan saying that ballal is spoiling their kids.kalyan is furious. He takes a stick and leaves in a haste for the jungle. Siddhi and buddhi tell ganesh to help balall and if he wont they will have no choice but to complain to Shiv and Parvati.

Kalyan is heading towards the forest. Siddhi and buddhi once again request ganesh to help ballal. But ganesh doesn't budge. Kalyan finally reaches ballal's place of worship. He bashes him ruthlessly and ties him to a tree and leaves him there to die. Siddhi and buddhi's request to ganesh is still not taken seriously .he consoles them but they are not pacified. At home indumati inquires to kalyan about balal. He tells her that he is fine and immersed in his ganesh pooja.indumati is doubtful. In the jungle ballal is all alone wounded and lonely. Indumati learns from kalyan how he has beaten up ballal and left him in the jungle.. siddhi and buddhi finally reach kailash and tell shiv and parvati about ballal and his agony.they complain against ganesh that he has yet not gone to rescue ballal. Shiv and parvati call ganesh and ask him to go to ballal and help him.ballal is furious with his father and curses him saying he'll turn deaf , mute and paralytic. At the same time he decides to end his life. Ganesh comes and saves ballal. He tells ballal as per his curse his father will become deaf mute and paralytic.

As per ballal's curse kalyan becomes deaf mute and paralytic. The doctor has no cure to his disease.indumati feels helpless.she misses ballal. Parvati wonders why is indumati going through so much stress. Shiv tells her that as indumati did not stop kalyan from the atrocities towards ballal , she has to go through this pain.indumati approaches a pandit to know about kalyan's future. Pandit tells her that kalyan has insulted lord ganesha hence he is paying for his sins. Indumati realises kalyan's blunder and immediately leaves for the jungle to meet ballal.she seems to be lost and is encountered by ganesha who comes to her in the form of a shepherd. He leads her to ballal's place of worship and leaves immediately. Ballal is amazed to know that a shepherd led indumati to him. He realises it was lord ganesha. While indumati is praying to the idol of lord ganesha she sees the image of the shepherd in the idol. She faints.
