Don't know abt show manipulation but whta Rajbir's dad did was what any father would do for his kid...You can't just marry a girl like that, what is her background, who are her realtives, what do they do...this all is to be known before...Marriage is not just between two people but between two families....It would have been ok if Raj and Pri had a love affair for a long time and they knew each other so well that this all things didn't matter, but that was also not the case as they knew each other only on screen in closed quarters...so infatuations are bound to happen...
