Akshay Kumar eyes Canadian citizenship?

It is believed that Akshay Kumar, who has been nominated as torch bearer of the 2010 winter Olympic Games in Canada, is also looking for better business ventures in Canada.

After enjoying stardom he is ready to explore avenues other than acting and producing films. Akshay, who got into film production by launching his banner Hari Om Productions, is planning to bury himself into business completely.

According to an industry insider, Akshay is investing big time in Canadian properties. He is planning to have malls and hotels in Canada.

It is also believed that Akshay is planning to acquire a Canadian passport. His Canadian citizenship will help him in business ventures. So while he is a seasoned actor now, he is slowly but surely trying to learn the tricks of trade, literally speaking.

We tried to get in touch with Akshay Kumar to confirm the news, but the actor chose not to respond.

I wouldn't be suprised! He adores Toronto and when he came to the Toronto International Film Festival to promote Singh is King he said Toronto is his fave city ever!

He even has a condo in Toronto and Muskoka I think.

he already have a home in toronto....first ppl were saying he is a citizen then i heard he is PR card holder but not citizen yet ....

I don't know about the status of his citizenship but YAY, it would be great.

don't u have to permanently (i mean not two weeks out of the whole year) reside in Canada to become a citizen?
