Problem is, people are focusing more on the misinterpreted version of feminism (like demanding reservation instead of fighting for equality, repeatedly making the claim that 'all-girls-are-innocent' instead of standing up against the one who is guilty, etc) than working for actual feminism.

Feminism is equated with woman's rights normally which sometimes can go overboard. But I do like ladies being ladies rather than ladies being men.

Feminism has got nothing to do with women being men or masculine, and vice-versa. It's aimed at reaching for equal rights amongst sexes. Like every other ideologies/movements, however, feminism too have its extremists. There are decent, civil feminists out there who are as ordinary as everyone else, except that they fight for equal rights for themselves; there are feminists who are arrogant and harsh, and yet when it comes down to their work, they do fight for woman's rights; and then there are "feminists" (if it is worth calling them that), who neither work for woman's welfare, nor for stopping injustice and inequality amongst sexes, they are simply happy to live their lives bashing men wherever they go, and whomever they find near them.

Can't be pinpointing on the entire group of feminists just based on a few. Just as there are chauvinist feminist, there are decent ones as well.

There exist men who are feminists, as well - why do we forget about that?

i was thinking abt this a while back...mostly because of indian TV....were seeing so many shows on TV now that are all abt ...glrs and selfrespects, and sanskar, and all that.

but really, is there any need? i mean the point comes on across well, without having repetitions over and over again abt the same thing.
also, with the feminism, they always try ti make the guys look bad. Just because theyre is feminism included in a show, doesnt mean that the guys in it have to be portrayed as "evil".

i agree with what most of the ppl has said here...........feminism is not going too far......its the fanatical, perverted version of feminism thats going too far!
if people demand equal education rights for men and women then that is feminism, but when people demnd EXTRA RIGHTS for women that are unfair, i.e. reservation in the parliament, then THAT IS FANATICISM!
