Deepa Parab
Here's an actress who has taken her acting a bit too seriously.

The next time you see Jeeya (Deepa Parab) cry on Reth (Zee TV) spare some time to appreciate her tears. Parab, who has been a theatre actress for some time, can cry at the drop of a hat.

She discovered her unique talent right in the beginning of the show when she was required to get teary-eyed for a particular scene.

"I knew I didn't want to use glycerin. So I decided to just go along with the flow and emote.

Surprisingly, when it came to crying I didn't have to try too hard. It came very naturally," says Deepa.

Parab's ability to cry became so popular that everyone would gather on the sets to watch her shed those tears. "I don't have an explanation as to how I do this, but for me it's like a switch which I turn on and off when required.

It's just that I don't like glycerin and prefer staying as natural as possible."
So does it mean she's a crybaby in real life too? "Not at all. That's my on-screen persona. It's just that I'm too sentimental in real life and get touchy."

Shyam Bhatta, the producer and cinematographer for the show, says, "I was totally shocked and surprised when I saw her cry.

The most interesting part about her is that she can do controlled crying. Which means if I ask her to stop crying and start again she can do it efficiently."

He discovered her talent when she was required to do a scene in a taxi where she is alone and thinking about a moment. "I told her to look sad and lost in thought. I had even asked for glycerin, but she refused.

From that day onwards, Deepa has managed to do all the emotional scenes with natural tears."

Oh, what a tear-jerking story! Sob!

Deepa Parab's snake phobia
Jia of Reth had to shoot with a real snake a few days ago. But the encounter left Deepa Parab (Jia) more than scared. When the camera started rolling and Deepa came face to face with the snake, it coiled up a few feet away from her. Says Deepa, "The snake also probably got scared of me and kept looking at me and we stared at each other". Soon the director realized that the shot was not happening as he wanted and decided to shoot them separately.

Partying's sweet sorrow for Reth

Reth is ready to party to celebrate the completion of 350 episodes. But there's a sting in the tail for this Zee tale.
It's also time for the afternoon show to wind up, in accordance with the channel's revamped working. Reth, that's been on air for more than two years, will come to a logical end by the first week of February.

"Well, it feels ok. I have gone through the initial feeling of feeling bad, I guess, " sighs producer Neelima Bajpai of Shakuntalam Films. "Somehow, Reth didn't seem to be getting the promotion and push like the other shows did. And yet, the show held its own for a long time," reasons Neelima., adding the that the production house plans to have a party to mark the completion of 350 episode party next week.

"I am very sentimental about the show and it will be tough for me to forget the show. I will miss it a lot," says Deepa Parab who plays the lead, Jia, on the show and is now looking forward to film offers and TV commercials.

"I am feeling bad because it is one of the best shows on Zee. It had good TRPs, besides the acting and direction too was good. The entire unit was very friendly and I miss it all," says Ankur Nayyar, who was working on the show since its inception, but quit it five months ago.

Neelima has earlier directed Bhanwar for Sahara, and shows on Sab TV, TV18, a few episodes of Zee's Koi Apna Sa, KumKum, Kabhi Aye Na Judai, Kagaar and now Reth (initial episodes).
The last episode of Reth will be aired on 3 February.

Reth to bite the dust

Zee's popular shows are bidding adieu to their audiences. First it was Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, then Piya Ka Ghar and now it's Reth.

Reth's producer Neelima Bajpai says, "Yes. It feels bad when something you have worked on goes off air. But it was the channel's decision, which we had to abide by. Actually, we had planned a few things for the serial, like a new set of family was to be introduced. But a change in the channel's policy made our plans fall flat."

The afternoon daily will complete 359 episodes before it goes off air. However, not to be cowed by the sudden end of her serial, Bajpai has started working on a couple of ideas. "We have some ideas on our mind, which we are working on."

in all the zeetv dramas almost every thing almost the same (revenge). why ? i like the reth because of jiya and kshom. pls we need little change for it .like in the end kshom and jia live together with their peace ful life .and netra and shekkar remarriage.that is the way kshom should take the revenge. thanks i hope the director will think about it
