Just thought of asking everybody here one question. Are we giving in to x-factor more than singing? I agree that contestants should be a combo of all factors but looking at the trends I'm kind of worried that the janta is giving in to x- factor more than singing. I can't help but compare sa re ga ma pa here where contestants are presentable, good-looking and extremely and comparitvely good singers. They do not jump and sing and lose control over their voices and yet have contact with the janta through sur and taal. To me that is presentation of a singer.

II is my favorite music show but I guess everbody including the channel is trying to make it look like an award function. All those contestants who perform like one of those dance cum song item on events like award functions are given good reviews and those who sing well with little dance are not appreciated. Are we doing justice to real singers? Is it time for us to do some introspection? Are we going to end up with someone like Qazi as our II?

I personally dont care much about X-Factor, yes, the person I'm voting for, must have personality....The other thing is that alot of people dont even have a clue what X-Factor is....

You have to also keep in something in mind that some of the decisions made by the Indian public is not based on talent OR X-factor. Or else, with no disrespect to their fans, how do you think the following people got thru?

Ravi Tripathi: He didnt have the X-Factor, nor did he sing that well in his group.
Yashashree Bhave: No X-Factor as such & got not-too-postive reactions from the judges(Though really, I dont listen to the judges)
Jolly Das: Now here's a thinker....She clearly didnt sing well, she had no X-Factor whatsoever & yet she was the third highest vote getter?!?!?!?!

So no one can say, India is voting based on X-Y-Z factor...They are just power voting.....Thye are basically voting on the sympathy wave & likeabilty factor(To my knowledge)

exactly. people don't always go for x-factor and neither do they always consider the singing factor only. well different people have different opinions. so must of the janta might have found jolly, ravi and yashashree better than others. personally i am not a fan of these three. anyways lets just hope that they chose those whom we think are the best ones. 😉
