DIA MIRZA's has no qualms that she missed the bus in Apoorva Lakhia's last film 'Ek Ajnabee', which released recently. Supposed to do that film, she was informed at the last minute that she was out. Mirza hasn't forgotten it, but is still radiant as ever. Her next release 'Fight Club' is ready for release. What's your role in 'Fight Club'?
Yes, I will be seen speaking Bengali in the film. The actress says she will pick up on the language from her Bengali mother. You were supposed to do 'Ek Ajnabee'? Yes, but that was when AB Corp was solely producing the film. On hindsight, I have no regrets that the film didn't happen to me. Your kissing scene in the film 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' is still talked about? The kiss was not titillating. The kiss in the movie was an integral part of the story. It showed the first encounter between Emraan and I, and if you watch the film carefully you will see disgust and humiliation on my face. It is because a stranger kissed my character. How would you react if some stranger were to kiss you in real life? I will simply beat him black and blue.
What about him? We have not been in touch ever since we parted ways sometime back. Next question, please. Are you having a relationship with Sameer Hafeez? Sameer is an intelligent guy. What's charming is that I can discuss anything from films to Shakespeare with him. It's not wrong to have a personal life or get involved with a person. I am getting to know someone. It is a very good friendship but it's too early to call it love. I am just getting to know him. Has 2005 been good for you? The year 2005 proved to be successful one for me and I am confident that the coming year will also be fantastic. I had two releases, 'Parineeta' and 'Dus' and both clicked. 2005 broke the jinxes. I had my first two hits. I can't call them my hit films per se but I was a part of two very big hits and I am looking forward to some independent solo blockbusters. Please go on... As actresses, I feel we are very greedy as we want to do all kinds of roles and I have also done a wide variety and range of roles. I have done a lot of experimentation from 'Tehzeeb' to 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha', 'Tumko Na Bhool Payenge', 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein', 'Dum', 'Parineeta' and 'Dus'. It's been an interesting mixed bag and I will continue doing different roles, as I do not want to have a stereotyped image. |
