Hello friends! 😊

This post is about collecting stamps, also known as philately.

Stamps collection as a hobby is very worthwhile as it greatly enhances the general knowledge of the collector.

Through stamp collecting, one finds information about currency, science, history, architecture, politics, arts, customs and rituals of different peoples and countries of the world.

It is also a very relaxing pastime.

Great topic, Pooji!

I don't collect stamps but at one point I was crazy about collecting coins and I still have a few very old coins that I was lucky enough to hold of but then I kind of stopped for no real reason 😆

My mom used to collect stamps mainly bcos she had lots of pen pals (no Orkut or Facebook at that time 😛) and used to receive lots of letters from various countries.

I collect Stamps and have a big one, but I haven't taken care of it for a few years, can't remember where they are 😆

I'm not a serious stamp collector but I want to collect ones which I don't have that appeal to me, whether its rare or not, I want a nice collection of stamps, that I don't have just yet

My grandfather has two stamps collection... one with any stamps and one with valuable stamps! The old ones are quite impressive, especially the Queen Elizabeth ones.

I don't really have a stamps collection as such. I received a pack of stamps as a gift for a contest some years ago. They are only ones I own till now.

It does require quite some patience not to 'harm' the stamp when you are cutting them. I tend to "damage" the sides bearing the design of the stamps each time, practically ending up with a stamp of no value at all. 😕😆

@ Soumya: Your mother is very lucky indeed. 😛 I missed that period entirely. My elder cousins used to have lots of pen-pals too... but then came the Internet!

I used to have a large stamp collection around 50, most of them were my friend's stamps, but I dont know where it is now, I think it got lost. Anyways its a nice and interesting thing to collect stamps

I loved to collect Stamps . i have 2 albums..most from malaysia..during school time i used to exchanged stamps with friend..but nowsdays..its hard to meet people who collects stamp..because people use email more than postal mail

i just collect for fun.
