1. they took out their anger on food. no one eats even if they are a little bit upset. very childish.
2. WHY do the women stand around serving the food while the men eat?!! (see other women degrading topic)

Yeah, isn't that devi Annapurna ka apmaan? DJ and double standards....Chalo, we do know that even though the Singhanias don't eat, the food doesn't go to waste thanks to maharaji and Gulabo...dono itne haate kaate hain🤣 🤣...And the women standing around...don't get me started on that...at my grand-in-laws place its the same thing...although now my husband's grandma sits at the table with her husband because she is frail...but this is very typical in the north and the south (which is where our family is from.)

so it still happens in India

its like the women are waiting on their toes for a glass to fall or something... 😆
singhanias have such a huge dining table, they can all easily sit and have a nice meal, gulabo n maharaj ji will take care of any needs. No one in the family will die if the parathas are not piping hot straight from the stove.

Haan, yaar...I forget these so called "traditions" living in America...my in-laws live here and are very progressive...my parents live in Mumbai and are very progressive...but when we visit our family down south, it is a different story...all my aunts and my husband's aunts are well-educated, but even then they are always waiting hand on foot on all of the men in the house, even the kids...and the men just take it for granted...in our family (on both sides), being served by the help is frowned upon...but my argument is, why not lay all the dishes on the table and then everyone can help themselves...it works for us here. Lets move on from this "seva" mode...thankfully, the younger generation in India ( our cousins) are not like this...so we are moving forward... slowly...

And there is a double standard between bahus and betiyaans too... Rashmi and Nandini sit at the table and this is typical...but the bahu, no way!!!! Same thing in our family 🤢

Completely agree with you Nida & Anjali...but the fact is that there are still many conservative families in India who follows all these traditional bakwaas! Obviously the new generation & nuclear families not included.

I have always wondered if the Singhanias ever use the other side of their BIG dining table! Even if they need the parathas piping hot, Maharaj ji & Gulabo should be more than enough to handle that.....but no.....all the women have to stand by their hubby's feeding them! Why do they even have Maharaj ji & Gulabo in the kitchen.......the women in the house do all the work themselves!

Yay, Shreya! Welcome to the twilight zone we call the YRKKH forum🤣🤣! It was nice to get your PMs...Agree with you on Gulabo and Maharaji, particularly now that G ma and B ma are hell bent on keeping Akshara solely for kitchen and serving duty...Gulabo's only purpose is to get Akshara into trouble...she is evil...other than that, she is useless...she is supposed to be Nandini's assistant;now, looks like Nandini doesn't want her either. Maharaji is mostly concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen and lecturing everyone on how DJ likes things served...those two are hopeless... Poor Akshara...😭😭

The purpose of that big dining table is for the two jamais who will be added in time...and maybe the chota munna/munnis who are yet to come...uff...it will never end for our Aksh...😒

I don't think it happens now-a days....atleast i have never seen that not even my grandma....maybe in some communities but certainly not that i'am aware of...yes the women folk do serve them but it's not like that they'll wait for their own dinner till the men finish eating.....

have't seen the episode..but the towel scene and feeding scenes are the highlight after going thru some of the posts i think......was there a la Saawariya ...😉
