Jayaprada's 'Shesh Sanghat' in theatres on Oct 29

Kolkata, Oct 15 :: The music of Shesh Sanghat, a film directed by Ashok Vishwanathan, was released at a city multiplex on Wednesday evening. Produced by Rainbow Jayaprada Entertainmentz, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 29.

Music director of the film, Bappi Lahiri was present on the occasion. Jayaprada, who plays the lead role in the film, also made an appearance, along with other actors of the film including Jackie Shroff, Chiranjeet and Sabyasachi Chakraborty.

'We have shot this movie over a period of more than a year. There has not been any conscious effort to portray the actual social and political scenario of the times. But there is an effort to portray modern problems. The story is about a woman's jihad on the society after it exploits her,' the director said. 'There are six songs in the film and all of them are integral to the plot. They do the
job of a narrator,' he added.

Jayaprada, a veteran of 283 films in seven languages, said the film touches burning issues of modern times and will definitely strike a chord among the masses. 'The smell of rustic India is palpable in the movie,' she added. Chiranjeet echoed her words, 'You can smell the countryside through the songs,' he said.

Talking about Vishwanathan, Jayaprada said, 'He is a genius. He supported me incredibly and helped me give my best.'

'I'm very happy that Jayaprada acted in a Bengali film after such a long time. The music I have given is very rustic. People will
love it,' said Bappi da and happily obliged when requested to sing a couple of lines.

Shesh Sanghat is 'Feluda' Sabyasachi Chakraborty's second film with Vishwanathan. 'It's always a pleasure working with him. I hope to work together again,' he said.

'I play the role of a police inspector in the film and I really enjoyed being part of the unit,' said Jackie Shroff, who made a brief appearance.

'I haven't seen the film but Ashok has earlier made quality films. I wish him all the best and hope Shesh Sanghat will be a commercial success,' said director Gautam Ghose, who was also present on the occasion.
