GEC Watch: Colors takes top spot; Zee is at No 2

The hierarchy of general entertainment channels has changed slightly in Week 40, as per TAM Media Research data on C&S 4+, HSM audiences. Colors has usurped the top spot, with 22 per cent share of the entire pie. The channel has garnered 270 GRPs in the latest week.

Zee has moved to the No. 2 spot. Grabbing 20 per cent share and 251 GRPs, Zee has moved ahead of STAR Plus, which has managed to rake in 237 GRPs. At No. 3, STAR Plus' relative share stands at 19 per cent.

Sony has maintained its No. 4 position with 148 GRPs and a relative share of 12 per cent. NDTV Imagine is at No. 5, garnering a relative share of 8 per cent. SAB, too, has maintained its 5 per cent channel share in Week 40.

DD1 has seen a slight increase in Week 40, with its relative share increasing to 5 per cent, at par with SAB. STAR One's share stands at 4 per cent, while Sahara One's is 3 per cent. Both 9X and STAR Utsav have managed to garner 1 per cent share.

Among the most watched programmes on Hindi GECs, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai tops the list, garnering a high TVR of 5.7. Bidaai is at No. 2 with 5.5 TVR. Balika Vadhu at No. 3 comes close with a TVR of 5.3. Pavitra Rishta and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, both on Zee, have garnered a TVR of 4.6.

Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi with a TVR of 4.4 and is at No. 6. Saregamapa Lil Champs-09 and Uttaran fetched a TVR of 4.2, followed by Chhoti Bahu and Na Aana Is Des Laado.
