Sulochana thinks slapping grown-up children is the way to give / correct their sanskaar........

Any comments?????

Sulochana seems to like slapping people, she doesn't hear them out, just humilates and insult them. Varsha should've informed her family before leaving but at the same time she is there on business not going wild, what Sulochana did was wrong.

I don't know anyone who slaps their children once they pass about the age of 16-18. After that age, using slaps isn't very effective; if you're over 18 how much is a slap going to change your way of thinking? If anything it makes them brood and rebel more. It is often an effective deterrent on young children who are still afraid of their parents, but seriously, how much is it going to help a parent's relationship with an ADULT child?

I still can't believe that Sulochana hit Manav, someone needs to tell that woman that Manav is a 30 (THIRTY!) year-old adult and someone else's child. How would she feel if Rasika went all slap-happy on Vinod?

Sulochana is a very annoying character.
She thinks whatever she does is right and all others have to follow her.

I think Sulochana,s husband is more annoying. He keeps on staring while his wife creates a scene.

First of all, in reality no mother-in-law is going to slap their damad, i mean no matter how modern a society gets a damad is a damad right. They get so much respect from the girls family.

Secondly, Archana should learn to trust Manav. Everyone is that house knows what Ajit and Manju have done to date and what Manav has done in that house to date. He has saved Arachana from humiliation and saved her dad from dying compared to Ajit and Manju who have always insulted them. Weighing Ajit and Manav seriously cant she make her own judgement who is what.

Or how about giving Manav a chance to explain. Jeez this day and age sure a woman gets mad and when you see something with your eyes its hard to believe but atleast you give the person time to explain themselves.

Third, slapping a child never works. In our indian community we think that the best form of dicipline is hitting your child so that they get scared and dont do it again but really do we want them to be scared or to understand the consequences of their decision. Its talking to them and making them understand. Listening to their point of view, trying to understand where they come from. YOu cant just say a person is wrong you have to understand why they are saying what they are saying.

Suloachana has always made a difference between Archana and Varsha, after everything that has happened why would Varsha want to confide in her mother about her whereabouts. I mean its not like the mother trusts this daughter of hers. Suloachana for once needs to understand that if Varsha has studied and is working then work has comittments. To trust her when she says she is doing something.

Varsha atleast is not a chupi thing like Archana and speaks her mind, i wonder if we will ever see a day when Archana speak up and actually tell someone off for being wrong. She might just be another Bani, Gauri or Tulsi....

i dont like sulochana at all!
and slapping never helps once a kid is in his/her teens...they will actually rebel more. Sulochana proved that Varsha will NEVER be able to tell her anything.

I think slapping grownup children infront of others make them more stubborn & rebel like Jess said, especially a mature person like Varsha being slapped in front of her boss & colleagues is so embarrassing

Salochna still thinks she is a little kid who can be handled like this.

On the other hand Salochna is justified in her own way, she herself has been brought up in a similar way & living in a place where ppl are more interested in neighbours personal life then their own so she is worried about her family's reputation .

I think Sulochana is slap-happy and doesnt think twice before doing this.No wonder Varsha is being pushed for a rebellion. She cannot trust her own daughter, how do we expect to trust her son-in-law. But she shouldn't have slapped him, he is someone else's son.
