Raj was the guy who was being blackmailed by Durgashankar. Durga told raj to lie to Bhavanis family that rhimjhim was his wife. (Isha had been kidnapped and placed in a hospital where raj could not find her) He did so because his daughter Isha who was at the time suffering from cancer,needed treatment which was being stopped. Only if he lied would his daughters treatment be restarted.
