I have to say that I respectfully disagree with what you are saying. To me as a Hindu, there is nothing wrong with this serial evoking or comparing Rads and Dev's love to the love of these immortals. The show is working on a metaphor, a comparison and yes these characters are in no way perfect, but what is the problem with attempting to depict parts of their characters as such? Isn't godliness in everyone? Why can't CB Radhika be compared with her religious counterpart. Yes, she is an evolving human who makes mistakes, but I see no problem with evoking a metaphor here. The show is not saying that she is actually Radhika or Dev is actually Kanha. The show appears to be inviting that mythic structure to inform ( loosely and strongly) at times the lives of these people and their love. To me there is nothing insulting in that. And while I think that yes these characters are imperfect and flawed there are beautiful spiritual moments in their love. The fact that fractured mortals can attain such moments appears to me the shows way of saying that God is everywhere and in everyone. In even Rad's and Dev's most flawed moments, they have been able to at times demonstrate a consciousness outside of themselves and that can be one step towards spirituality. I think that they are showing the different levels of love that people can attain and ultimately these characters will try to move to that timeless spritual journey. If at the end of the show Radhika and Dev feel that they have that bond, why is a spiritual comparison wrong?

I agree that in no way are these characters are Gods and Goddesses, but they are attempting to incorporate their interpretation of a godly life into their daily lives and decisions. Religious metaphors and stories indeed are apt here as a way of expressing the battles that flawed humans face in everyday life. There is nothing wrong with that. Many stories evoke religious parallels. It does not mean that these characters are religious figures. Instead Ra-Dev opens discourse as to how humans can try to live a spiritual life and do live spiritual lives with battles surrounding them, even if they do not see them as such.

Just as the religious stories of India give greater insight into the ways of humans, why can't human interpretation of religious stories give illumination to the ways of Gods and Goddesses? To me Ra-Dev is a beautiful artistic rendering of the spiritual love that was held by their mythic counterparts. While you and I can disagree about whether or not it is beautiful, I certainly think that the Creatives and viewers have the right to invoke these comparisons.

We have people comparing this serial to our religious stories which simply shocks me...

These characters are mortals-human beings...Have made many mistakes and lied...Humans are supposed to make mistakes which is accepted but not these sort....Pls do not compare them with Mythological scenerios....It is an insult to God and our heritage....Lord Rama, Krishna, ETC from Mahabharata and Ramayana....

I personally get offended when that happens....I am proud of my Indian heritage and I don't condone lying and keeping sectret as big as "Marriage" it is a sacred bandhan-relationship....Have some respect for it...

No offence meant to anyone...Just my personal views...

BTW I would love to read up on all mythological stories if they were written to educate readers in different section & topic....Not in this silly Serial section....
