Why Karan's girlfriend Nisha was out of Basera
Only recently did Nisha Rawal make it to the headlines but for personal reasons. It was just a few days ago when her ardent
lover Karan Mehra professed his love to her in full media glare. Now we hear that Nisha has a lot more to her than just being
Karan's girlfriend. She is a model and an actress in the making. And if luck would have it she would have made her debut on
television with Sagar Arts' Basera. In fact Nisha had even signed on for the role. She was selected to essay the character of
Nandini Parikh but unfortunately was replaced by Priya Bhatija at the final hour.
Confirming the news, Nisha says, "Yes, I was offered the role of Nandini and I had also signed on the dotted line. But I was
later informed that the channel found me too glamorous for the role. At the end it's the channel's and creative team's
perception of a person. I have no hard feelings whatsoever as I know the decisions are taken in the interest of the show. But I
am sure they can de-glamourise you if need be. If you can see them glamourising a non-glam person then it can be done vice
versa as well. But at the end it's their decision and I respect it."
The lady however is clear about taking only prime-time shows and preferably on a prominent channel. Says she, "I am flooded
with offers but I am taking it easy. I am very choosy and the script and concept of the show is my primary concern. I am very
clear that the show has to be a primetime show and I would only settle for the lead character on a show."
Going by the low TRPs of Basera guess Nisha hasn't lost anything.
