Ratan aka Laali dresses as her character...if she was selfish and into herself like the "other" wife then they would dress her up in expensive sari; jewelry and pile on the makeup to make her appear more beautiful for the cameras. Ratan is unique. She doesn't have on tons of makeup and tons of clothing she looks beautiful. She's all natural. She is complete and simple which makes her a cut above the rest!!!!!!!!!
