Actress Bipasha Basu will win National Award...
Questions have been raised over whether Bipasha Basu will be able to win an award for one of her recent roles after it was entirely dubbed.
The Indian actress starred in Rituparno Ghosh's Sob Choritro Kalponik but her part was dubbed by Sohini Halder as she did not speak the regional language fluently. The Times of India asked S.M. Khan, director of the Directorate of Film Festivals, whether or not the actress would be considered for nomination at the National Awards. "The rule does not specify anything. If the rules are silent, then it will be left to the jury," Khan advised. "This entry hasn't come," he said, referring to Basu's role in Sob Choritro Kalponik. "For the leading actor/actress, the dubbing of dialogues by other artistes will make the entry ineligible for the awards."
