Neetu Kapoor's mother, Rajee Singh, 71, passed away early morning on Tuesday. She had been staying with Rishi Kapoor and Neetu at their bungalow Krishna Raj, Pali Hill, Bandra. Rajee Singh died of a cardiac arrest and was cremated last evening.
Shanti Malik, manager to Rishi and Neetu, confirmed the news and said, "Mrs Rajee Singh died due to cardiac arrest at around 4.20 am."
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor's girlfriend Deepika Padukone, cancelled all her appointments to be by her boyfriend's family's side all day yesterday.
A source said, "Deepika was scheduled to leave for Italy to shoot for Sajid Khan's Housefull with Akshay Kumar. She was in Mumbai for a couple of days as the shooting location was being shifted from London to Italy. Also, she was in a mood for celebration as her manager-friend Tia delivered a baby boy yesterday. But when Deepika heard the sad news that Ranbir's grandmother had passed away, she rushed to the Kapoor residence. She wanted to be with the Kapoors and cancelled her ticket to Italy. She might leave for Italy today."
