People magazine reports that the 47-year-old star gave birth to twins with her partner, actor GORDON MacDONALD. No other details were immediately available. Hunter, who won an Oscar for her role in the 1993 film 'The Piano,' can next be seen in the comedy crime flick 'The Big White' with ROBIN WILLIAMS

Brittany Murphy Gets Engaged

BRITTANY MURPHY has gotten engaged to boyfriend JOE MACALUSO, People magazine is reporting.

The couple met when Brittany was shooting the 2004 romantic comedy 'Little Black Book.' Macaluso was working on the film as a production assistant.

Bride-to-be Brittany said "yes" over the Christmas holiday -- and is now sporting a gorgeous 3-4 carat Tiffany sparkler!

There is no official wedding date announced yet.
