Daler Mehendi on Nihira

I never understood why Daler Mehendi had talked negatively about Nihira's Body language. All were puzzled I am sure and today when I went through the old episodes I just remembered it again. Though I dont really care what he meant (He was a wierd judge) still out of curiosity I would be happy to get the mystery solved. Did we in USA miss something?

She was one of the most decent girls on the show. Through out!So what was that stupid comment abt? It felt nice to see how her father just comforted her with his eyes and asked her to remain calm.

Can someone please update me what happened on that show? I missed the show that day

He said something to the effect that her body language indiates she considers herself the best....

Am so sorry that I defend Mehendi's view... It could look threatening for an humble down-to-earth soul...

Mehendi is a very ORIGINAL and a highly innovative person. (something not very common among us - copycats)

His tunak,tunak tun dancing style has been hailed as one of the most popular in the world, not just in India... All my non-indian friends also try/want to imitate his dance steps.. Just check his website before judging him as wierd, my friend and welcome to the forum and happy posting...

That was too funny when Pandit Jasraj corrected Daler on that!

When Daler was the judge, the comments posted on the forum were also pretty funny. Comments like "He should make a sur-scoreboard and count the number of times he goes off-key", in which someone replied, "He can't. The Bhangra Dhol is drowning him out."

Thanks tellus, do you mean to say that Nihira had "that" body langauage and Himani and Twinkle etc did not? Infact everything abt her seems to be honest and no drama.I don't remember who were opposite her but still. Personally she seemed calm and confident.. not over the top which was good. Nothing wrong in feeling that she can do a good job. Infact she did. Thinking over what you think he meant still does not make much sense to me but then I can be ignorant of details.

No one has to agree to me but these are my opinions.

I am not saying he is a bad singer/dancer/performer. Some of his compositions are too good including the latest Rang de Basanti one. Just that he was a wierd judge.It seemed more apparant in front of the other genius. He maybe an original but he sure could not go beyond the absolute technicalitlies of the song. He almost seemed emotionless.

Far from Home.. he said the Lata stuff to Keka. Also which was wierd considering the fact that she was just trying to sing the song as best as she can in the earlier rounds.(Most others were doing the same thing anyway.) After all if she was a genius she would not be on the show. She would be elsewhere. But yes.. the senior judge gave an apt answer which was so true.

Thanks for your replies you guys. I fully support Nihira and her humble nature and am 100% confident she will be very very successfull.

Daler's comment on body language that day holds good 100% for Himani lately.. After her Rangeela Re performance (she fainted after singing), her confidence hit the ceiling and later SLB's hug lead her to believe that she is supreme in Music. This attitude will not help her and she better check her attitude.

Talent is only gaining entry. Its the attitude that takes you all the way..
