when i was a child i heard the story of Dhruva. A little older- about 8, I read Mirabai Amar chitra Katha and that was it- I was hooked. I enthusiastically went to music classes so that I could learn some meera bhajans some day! FOr me she is a role model from my childhood who taught me that devotion to the lord is primordial over everything else in life.

^^^ wow! Thats something!!! I've read Meera bai's story and it was touching made me cry...her devotion towards Krishna..and her struggle to prove her sacred feelings to the world is really awe inspiring! There was a point in time when I was so carried away by her story that I wanted to become a jogan like her! But now I've gotten so used to the materialistic pleasures that I don't think I'll leave it! :-(...Having said that I am very spiritual! I feel that I don't have to leave my pleasures to find my path!...

I have never read in detail the story of Meera Bai
but almost all of us know about the main things happened in her life ...

No one is immortal .. we all have to die one day
but being in love with LORd like her is not easy at all ...
There are bore bhakts liek u said Dhruv and some saints
So knowing about them gives courage whenever we face bad phases

Being in Lord we can easily cross many bad phases of life..

Wat i like is she stood up all the time no1 cud hurt her enough to lead to breaking her

i didnt know too much about her

meera is perfect example of devotion like how she lost herself in krishna n didn,t care about the world. she teach us that love is not getting something in return it,s just love like she loved krishna n asked for nothing in return.
