Anuj Sachdev has been gaining popularity in his first big role of Amrit in Sabki Ladli Bebo. He talks to us about the show and his future plans:
"Bebo and Amrit finally got married in the show and Amrit is very happy. Now, my bhaiya and bhabhi will enter the show and ask us to stay with them. But, as soon as I go there, they will start creating trouble for us, so the rest of my family will also enter the show. I am enjoying my character right now as it has different shades to it."
Anuj says that Shivshakti, who plays Bebo, is a kid. "I do get self-conscious when I do romantic scenes with her as she is very young. Her mother comes on the sets, so I do feel awkward sometimes. But I tease her, saying, 'See, you cannot hug me since your mother is here'. After the wedding on the show I have been teasing her mother saying that I can do anything with her daughter as she is now my wife," he says, adding. "Initially, it was difficult but now we discuss things and improvise. In fact, I get to learn a lot from her. Shivshakti is a very sweet girl. When I had a bad backache recently, she was the one who made the others understand that it was very serious."
Anuj adds that his scenes with Bebo are more emotional than sexual. "We will not have intimate scenes as this is a family show. The story has shown that I respect Bebo a lot as she is my friend. But my character will be shocked to find out that Bebo is not in love with him. I enjoy romantic scenes and I hope, some day, to sing songs and dance in the rain."
News is that the show might be shifted to an afternoon slot. "I too heard about it but it is not going to happen. I have confirmed this with the production house and the channel," says the actor. "We didn't get good TRPs initially, but we have worked on the script and introduced many twists in the tale, with more to come. The other thing was that we had few characters and there was a telecast problem, but new characters have been introduced, so the work pressure has reduced."
Anuj recently went back home to Delhi as his grandmother had to undergo a surgery. But she's better now and he got to spend some time with her. The actor's father is in the shoe business, and Anuj had originally planned to launch his own footwear line; he had even done a course in footwear design. But then, acting happened. The actor says that some day he wants to start a shoe business in Mumbai.
