Partying at your own risk?

They are single, willing to mingle and ready to party after a hard day's shoot. But Mumbai, the restless city, is no longer the safe haven it was supposed to be, particularly after the incident of a South African model's rape after a few drinks in a suburban hotel, shook the metropolis out of its slumber. Are our female TV artistes scared by the mishap? Or do they think it was a stray incident?

Riya V Anandwala talks to a few telly divas to know their take on this issue.

I never travel alone at night, whenever I am going for a party, I take my driver along. Mumbai is pretty secure till 1:30 am. After that, it is definitely risky. Listening to a number of incidents with models and actresses lately, I am even more scared to travel at nights.
I would like to suggest everyone to lock their car doors when commuting at night. Even beggars asking for money can be dangerous. I remember once when I was coming back from college at noon in the first class compartment of a local train, something happened with me too. A man who I thought was a beggar began acting fresh with me; I ran to save my life and pulled the chain. He ran away though.

I do party whenever I get time off work. I drive alone wherever I go; mostly I always enter parties with my group of friends. I am a very people's person and will mix with strangers. I feel that when one is going for a night out, male friends have to be around. It's a little scary when one hears about such incidents, but one has to be strong and be with the right people. Places like discos are very unsafe for socialites.
Thankfully nothing like this has happened with me. Yes, once when I was in Delhi, a guy hit me on my thigh while I was in a rickshaw. I chased him and hammered him. I am not the kind to sit and cry!

I am never scared of traveling alone. Firstly, I am not a party freak. We can't keep crying over one incident. I am always out with either my friends or people whom I know. I would never go for a party, where I don't know anyone. I don't go to discos and places people with all sorts of folk.

I never go out alone, I always have my driver along with me. And whichever party I go to, my friends are around me always. I feel the recent cases of molestations can happen to anyone, it's just that one has to be sensible enough. I don't drink anyway, so that's where I go safe! Mumbai is safe, no two ways about it. On the contrary, Delhi is unsafe for women!
I did a show in Ahmedabad, where men were acting too smart with me, but the security was tight and I got out of harm's way.

I do party, but whenever I have a night out, I take my car and drive it myself. I am always with my friends so there are very little chances of anything terrible happening to me. If people go out with unknown people, such things are bound to happen. The case of Bipasha Basu being molested by a few guys at Rain was of course bad, but may be guys got carried away with her screen image of being sexy and hot. If a Tulsi would have entered the place, maybe it wouldn't have been the same way!
