Bargain for peace
She was so engrossed in her work that it was making him want to just take her books which dared to keep her attention from him and rip them apart. But of course, he couldn't do that. It would show that he was being jealous of books, how pitiful is that? He looked at her and watched as she bit her lip, her eyebrows furrowed as she worked on her homework.
He sighed loudly. She didn't look up.
He frowned and decided to cough subtly. She still didn't look up, continuing to write something.
He crossed his arms and let out a loud "hmph". She sighed this time and rolled her eyes.
He decided to see exactly what it was that was keeping her away from him, and their plans to go out and get some ice cream. Okay, so those were his plans he just made up but still. Standing up and walking closer to her desk, he looked at her desk; a book lay to the side. The thing that dared to keep her away was her History work; he glared at the book with contempt. She looked up and noticed he had left his spot from her bed and was now standing there, glaring at something on her desk.
"Preet, what are you doing? Go sit down" she said, turning back to her notebook and tapping her pen against the page. He broke his "battle of who can glare better" with the book and pouted at her.
"I don't want to" he said, crossing his arms and jutting his lower lip out, exaggerating more than slightly.
"Why?" she asked, flipping back to another page and humming to herself.
"Because! My girlfriend is ignoring me, not paying even the slightest attention to me, I mean I came here so we can spend time together and you're sitting here doing your stupid homework" he answered with a whine in his husky voice. She looked up and stared at him blankly.
"I told you when you called that I had homework and its due tomorrow, I can't ignore it. I also told you that you should probably go and hang out with the guys, because you will get bored here, but you didn't listen, so don't blame me" she replied with a slight smirk. Normally she would've dumped her work till the last minute and gone with him to have fun, but this was the last minute she had. She knew she should have done the assignment the minute it was assigned, at least little by little.
"Well, forgive me for coming to spend time with my girlfriend!" he said dramatically, ignoring the fact that she had in fact warned him. She sighed and held out the remote for him to take. He looked at her for a minute and with a sigh took it and went back to the bed, turning on the TV to watch something.
The sound of the show he was watching, her pen scratching against the paper was all that was heard for the first few moments. But of course, like every other silence with Preet, it didn't last. After all, he didn't get what he wanted and that was her attention on him and only him. Yeah, he could be conceited at times.
He stood up carefully, without making noise and tip-toed over to where she sat staring at her book with careful attention. He quickly placed his hand on top of her notebook and let out a triumphant grin. She glanced at him and narrowed her eyes, making him gulp silently but he kept his hand on her work.
"Preet, move your hand. I need to finish this essay for English" she huffed as she tried to move his hand, silently cursing him for being much stronger than her.
"Wait…English? I thought you were doing History homework" he asked confused, glancing at the book with which he had won against in the battle of glaring, he refused to acknowledge the fact that it was an object, not a human that it would glare back.
"No, I finished that already, that's why it's on the side. Now move your hand before I stab it" she replied with a sugar coated smirk.
He let out a huff, "I can't believe this. Why didn't you tell me before hand? I could've helped you. English is my second language after all" he replied, standing straighter as if waiting for her to applaud him.
"…I don't want to fail my class Preet, now move it" she answered with a roll of her eyes.
"How rude. To think I'm dating you Shabo" another dramatic reply from him making her smile and bite the edge of her lip to hide it.
"One kiss to make you let me work" Shabo said, staring at him with a knowing gaze.
"Better make it two" he smirked at her as she stood and he moved his hand away. She rolled her eyes yet again, what a big price she had to pay for some peace.
