Gagan.....Manu.....yeah my dad had got a new camera.....digital n all....toh maine jam ke photos liye the......hehehehe :D....adha din maine manual padhne me hi laga diya tha....and then raat ko took the pics.....meri aadat hain...reading the maual....line by line....lolssss :D

Gagan.....yaar we had gone to the pandals...closer to our house.....had not visited too many of the really famous/big pandals....bohot bheed hota hain.....un pandals mein toh aur bhi behtar hota hain....

i was taking the pics......toh maine apne pics nahin liye.....lolzzzz :D

Manu...mujhe jitna pata hain im telling u.....i dont know too much of the actual mantra and aarti details......pooja is actually for 10 days,.....first day is maahaalaya.......that day earrrly morning mahalya hota hain......have u heard that shlok "yaa devi sarva bhuteshu.....".....bohot tv serials emin dete hain......woh hot hain....all tv/radio channels usually show a mahishasur mardini show....i.e durga slaying mahishasur etc.....very nice if the lead dancer does it well.....

then people start visitng the pandal from the 5th day....panchami.....and its more of a cultural celebration than religious.....sab jaate hain....irrespective of religion.....

8th day ko special anjali hota hain.....roz hota hain....but ashtami anjali is special....dont ask me why....i dont know.....

then 10th day ends.....with sindoor khela.....u know tv serials mein bohot dikhate hain....women putting red sindoor on each other...etc.....ek last ceremony hota hain....then ganga mein idol ko immerse kar dete hain.....

iv given a very shortkut explanation btw......

@tanu..wow..thanks yaar for the info..sounds very interesting! indian festivals, traditions etc are amazing..isnt it? i mean itni cultural diversity..u cant get anywhere else in the world! there are just soo many things.. i love all this! :D

wud love to attend a puja one day... (though i dont blv in god) but i love these festivals n celebrations!!
