The Screen Awards turn twelve this year. For all associated with it, it has been an enriching as well as an exciting journey down the years. From the side lights, we have watched rising stars, changing fortunes and soaring spirits and we have basked in the warm glow of cine achievers. Today, when our Best Debut Actor Aishwarya Rai luminates screens the world over, we sit back and nod happily saying, "We told you so!" Unique in format and context, owing to exclusive jury vote, our trophies sit pretty in many houses and offices of the film fraternity. For each owner, the golden statuette is a proud posssesion. A trophy that brings back memories of those golden moments .... In the twelve eventful years that have flown by, there have been nominees and winners galore. Each one of them is distinguished in his/her field of expertise. However, a few of them are more special, as our statistician points out. They are Screen's hot favourites, not only because they won but also because they have won repeatedly. If they haven't won the trophy, they have frequented our Hall of Fame as nominees giving their contenders a close fight to the finishing line. King Khan, Thinking Khan and Daring Devgan lead the list. While Shah Rukh Khan leads the pack with eight nominations and three trophies, Ajay Devgan is hot on his heels with as many nominations and two trophies in his kitty. Versatile Ajay was nominated in Best Performance in a Negative Role in Khakee. Aamir Khan comes in at close third, a trophy for Raja Hindustani and seven nominations in the Best Actor category. Aamir was also nominated in the Best Male Playback Singer category for the Aati kya Khandala ... number from Ghulam.

But Madhuri raced ahead with a rich haul of four trophies, one of which was for her stellar supporting performance in Devdas. Talented Kajol walked away with a couple of our golden statuettes. She and husband Ajay Devgan walked away hand-in-hand happily with one trophy each in 1998 - Kajol for Dushman and Ajay for Zakhm. Perhaps we could refer to them our Fame Jodi.

It is not his flamboyance alone but dollops of talents that makes music maker Anu Malik a perennial fave with our jury.
