Kiran driving Aamir crazy

Aamir Khan doesn't believe in half-measures. Even though he is busy shooting in Ladakh for Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots, he is making sure that all's well with wife Kiran, who is pregnant and hasn't been keeping well.

So particular is Aamir about keeping in touch with Kiran that he goes to a satellite phone booth during breaks as there is no mobile phone network where he is shooting in Ladakh.

The shoot is on at Tsimouri lake near the Siachen glacier, and because there are no hotels the unit is living in tents. A source said, "Kiran was very ill last week. She had to be admitted to a hospital because she had a lung infection. This is the second time she was hospitalised. She was discharged last Friday and Aamir had to rush to Ladakh to shoot for 3 Idiots. Concerned about his wife's health, the actor requested his in-laws to take care of her while he is away.

Aamir hoped to call Kiran regularly but when he reached the location, he realised there is no mobile phone network. He now drives down several times to the nearest satellite phone booth to check on his wife's health, every couple of hours. The nearest phone booth is at least an hour's drive away from the location. Aamir is extremely worried about Kiran, who is expecting their first child."

"Aamir is also a committed actor and is showing no signs of stress even though Kiran is unwell. We have never seen this side of Aamir," added the source.

Aamir remained unavailable for comment. However, a source close to the actor confirmed the news and said, "Aamir is shooting where there is no network and no one can get in touch with him even if they want to. That's why he calls his wife every two-three hours."
