Hiten is back on Kitani Mohabbat Hai
As the news goes Ekta Kapoor's blue eyed boy is back with a bang. That's right, handsome hunk Hiten Tejwani who made a blink and miss stint in NDTV Imagine's Kitani Mohabbat Hai is making a waapsi on the show and the good news is he is going to be there for a long time. Projected as a music sensation, Hiten will make a comeback in the midst of music concert. You will see more of your favorite star as he has pivotal character who will bring sunshine back into Arohi's life.BuzzOn his comeback Hiten says "I really cannot describe my feeling in words. It feels great to be back in action and I wish viewers appreciate my role as Karan Singh in Kitani Mohabbat Hai.". So with Hiten's come back, the show seems to take an interesting twist. Will there be love triangle booming between Karan, Arohi and Arjun?

A far cry from the stiff and snobbish businessman that he plays in NDTV Imagine's Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Karan Kundra is a funloving and adventurous person. Despite being a cricket buff, the poor guy couldn't catch the IPL. "My shooting schedules were such that I missed watching the IPL matches. But, I was rooting for the Kings XI, as I am from Punjab," he says. "Sometime ago, I had gone to a restaurant and spotted Yuvraj there and in the rush of the moment I went up to him and just hugged him. I conversed with him in Punjabi, introduced myself and also discussed some places in Chandigarh," says Karan.
Another trait of Karan that a lot of people aren't aware about is that he's a big-time prankster. He narrates an incident when a played a trick on a new assistant. "She was in charge of the continuity of the shot so I went up to her and asked her if it's okay to wear a different outfit. She gave me a go ahead. It was only after the shot was done that I started shouting loudly saying that the continuity was lost and we will have to re-shoot. She was almost on the verge of tears, when I told her that I was only kidding!" Well, the actor has had some embarrassing moments on the sets too. Once while shooting in Andheri, Karan stepped out of the vanity van and fell straight into a manhole!
Karan is half-Punjabi, half-Malayalee. And while he insists he isn't seeing anyone, he reveals his idea of a dream woman. "Someone who is intelligent, caring and with whom I can have a good conversation. I keep having crushes, but it's nothing serious. But yes, I do have a big crush on Priyanka Chopra," he says.
And what is the most romantic gesture he has done for a girl he likes? "I flew back from the U.S, where I was studying, to spend Valentine's day with my girl."

Kitne Issues Hai
Ekta Kapoors Kitani Mohabbat Hai has been on air for only four months and the makers of the show have already started making changes in the cast. Neena Gupta, who played Savita in the show, has been replaced by Papiya Sengupta.
Rumour has it that Neena was ousted because of her rude attitude. A source said, She used to behave rudely with others on the sets. Also, the production house often faced several problems while coordinating her dates for the show. She was clearly not keen on doing the show. After a point, the production house had no choice but to replace her. Since the character she played is very popular, the replacement also had to be an apt one.
It may be recalled that Neena had made news when she signed the show in January this year. Sandiip Sikcand, creative head of the show, said, Yes, we have replaced Neena but I dont know what exactly happened. I joined the show a few days ago and was told that she had to be replaced. We have now finalised Papiya Sengupta to play Savita in the show.
Neena refused to give details but she confirmed and said, I am no longer part of the show.
Vapid Romance
Kitani Mohabbat Hai is quintessential Ekta Kapoor. A story borrowed from several Hindi films, forced camaraderie, hero heroine falling over each other - in soft focus romantic style, thoda love, zyaada nafrat, misunderstandings, rich boy, poor girl, etc etc Arjun Punj is a son of a rich father, D K Punj. He is arrogant, he's short tempered, he's a stickler for punctuality and perfection and he cannot stand anyone or anything which affects his father and his happiness. Aarohi Sharma is the second daughter of a principled professor. The professor is your typical 'Mere usool mere adarsh' old man, who hates the 'c' (corruption) word, doesn't believe in shortcuts, considers his four daughters his zindagi ki kamaai and the gurukul in Simla where he's taught for over 30 years without accepting bribes and donations as his place of pride.
Aarohi and Arjun have bumped into each other time and again - in true Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge style, he's even helped her board a running train, but due to some or the other reason, the two fail to know the real people they are. D K Punj wants to build a school on the land opposite the gurukul and wants Aarohi's father to help him out. He knows it's difficult to make the 'idealist' old man agree to it but Punj, being a hardcore businessman, knows how to manipulate things and get things done. Helping him is a rich and famous couple, the Mittals and their wayward son.
Aarohi and her sisters in the meanwhile take pride in their father's modest achievements and ensure that they don't tarnish his image.
The story is being narrated by Arjun, many many years later inside a prison to a lawyer (Rakshanda Khan) who wants to fight his case and free him. It's with her that he's sharing his love story.
Where Bandini lacks in slow pace, Kitani Mohabbat Hai falters in its performances, especially that of the lead couple. Both lack the spunk, the chemistry and simply fail to connect. We think after Prerna and Anurag and Karan and Nandini (in Kasauti Zindagi Kay and Kutumb, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi), none of Ekta Kapoor's young couples have managed to whip up the same magic. Aarohi and Arjun look lifeless and stiff, their romance or whatever that's shown between them is vapid to say the least.
The story is a mish-mash of several Hindi films like Veer Zaara and Taal to name a couple. A love story even if it starts on a wrong footing works only if the lead players are magical. Sadly, Kitani Mohabbat Hai fails on that count. Luckily, the rest of the cast, especially the actors playing D K Punj, the professor and the haughty, Mrs Mittal save the show with their experience and acting chops.
As for the rest of the enterprise, all we can say is Uff Yeh Mohabbat!

Hiten's rockstar act
Ekta Kapoor's Mr Reliable seems to have struck a chord with audiences with every character he has played on his shows. Yes, we're talking about Hiten Tejwani, whose popularity has grown with every character he has portrayed on the small screen. Currently, he is back on television as the latest music sensation Karan Singh on NDTV Imagine's Kitani Mohabbat Hai. An elated Hiten says, "I have been practicing for long hours for the concert scenes. I am also watching CDs of rock concerts and growing my hair to adapt to the body language and looks of a rock star." Well, we don't know about other rockstars, but yes, this star definitely promises to keep you mesmerised with his zabardast performance.

Ekta Kapoor's Krishna bungalow in Juhu was the place to be for telly folk recently as she, along with dad Jeetendra and mum Shobha Kapoor hosteda small get-together to introduce the cast of her two new shows Bandini and Kitani Mohabbat Hai on NDTV Imagine. Ekta was in high spirits and cheerfully posed for the shutterbugs with her parents. Ronit Roy and wife Neelam, Rakshanda Khan who compered the do (and looking smashing in a black salwar kameez we must add!), Neena Gupta, Sudha Shivpuri and others were some of the people who attended the do. Shailaja Kejriwal and Sameer Nair were also present at the occasion. Newcomers Kritika Kamra, Karan Kundra and Aasiya Kazi were quite overwhelmed with all the attention. It wasn't any monument of Kolkata that caught the attention of Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra ' the two new faces of Ekta Kapoor'slatest production for NDTV Imagine ' when they touched down in the city on Friday morning. It was three boats, parked right on VIP Road, near Bangur. Seeing the three boats 'on duty' (maintained by the West Bengal government), Karan's first reaction was, "Oh my God! Boats on VIP Road?" When we explained that it was a precautionary measure taken by the government because of the monsoons, the duo was surprised. "I have heard about Aila. This is my first visit to Kolkata. I wanted to see the electric trams and gorge on the food here, but I hadn't bargained for a boat on the highway!" quipped NIFT pass-out-turned-actor, Kritika. The pretty actor finds the City of Joy quite similar to Mumbai ' warm, bustling and abuzz with activity. "I haven't found this kind of ambience anywhere else in India," she said, even while Karan got busy surveying the top of one of the boats. "Can I pose on top of one of these? It would make a great profile picture to put up on social networking sites!" said Karan, quickly following up his words with action. Incidentally, it was Karan's picture on one of these sites, that got the Soap Queen to notice him! Wonder who will spot this dreamboat next!

Kritika Kamra speaks about her role in Kitani Mohabbat Hai
Love changes people in unbelievable ways. How far will love take you? Arohi and Arjun, two contrasting individuals, come together in the powerful and heart-warming television serial ~ NDTV Imagine's Kitani Mohabbat Hai. Karan Kundra, as you have read in these columns, is one of India's first online finds. Kritika Kamra is also a name to be reckoned with. During their recent visit to Kolkata, the two stopped here and there before reaching the centre of the city ~ Esplanade. On the way, they were greeted by large number of fans and if you look around your neighbour may have her photograph sitting on an abandoned boat by a canal. At one of the city's best sweet shops ~ KC Das ~ they stopped for a long while as Kundra had to munch on a large heap of kheer ka dum. Anyway, that's their personal life. Since January, the serial has been doing very well and has given the two lead characters a new stature.
"The show is undergoing a change and my character is slowly transforming from being a chirpy girl to a mature woman," says Kamra. "After a while, characters and actors become the same. I see traces of being a small-town girl in me."
Before getting selected for the show, she was busy with her designing course at NIFT. "All it took was one interview. I didn't what I had auditioned for but after I was selected, my parents gave their full support."
Once the first billboards of the serial went up in Mumbai, the two spent the night checking each of them out. "That's how good it felt."
"When I see my recent episodes, I find a mature me. I have never been to an acting school but I always try to learn from seniors."
As for working with Kundra, she says, "He has a wild streak and is a foodie. We often land up at dhabas."
Kritika had different plans
She wanted to be a fashion designer, but a call from Balaji Telefilms was too difficult to resist for KritikaKamra."When Ekta Kapoor narrated my character, I instantly fell in love with Aarohi," reveals the chirpy 20-year-old. "Since I am also from a small town I can relate to Aarohi. The only difference is that Aarohi is a singer and I cannot sing at all... though I try to," she laughs.
A self-confessed shopaholic, Kritika loves to shop but she's not brand conscious and loves to shop for junk jewellery from Bandra in Mumbai and Janpath in Delhi. When asked about her slim figure, she exclaims, "C is the secret of my energy. I love chicken, cheese, chaat, chips, cookies, chocolates, cream, caramel..." A big football fanatic, she confesses that she would love to date Cristiano Ronaldo some day. With busy shoot schedules, she relies on her co-star and friend Karan Kundra for updates. Kritika also reveals that the Om pendant that she wears in Kitani Mohabbat Hai, on NDTV Imagine is her lucky charm. She does not leave home without it.
