| Ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani unveils his 2006 calendar which features Bollywood's biggest stars | Amitabh Bachchan and Mallika Sherawat are all set to share the same space this year. They aren't coming together in a film, but will light up Dabboo Ratnani's seventh annual calendar, which will be unveiled later this week.
Different in style than the one designed last year, Dabboo says the highlight of the calendar is the focus on expressions and pictures of the actors.
"We have incorporated the datelines in the picture itself, making the photos the focus of attention. Also we have used a classic theme this year."
Interestingly, Aamir Khan and Mallika Sherawat are the two actors he has worked with for the first time on the calendar.
"I have worked with Aamir before, but he has never graced my calendar. He was excited from Day One when I approached him for the shoot. Right from the clothes to his look, Aamir was thoroughly involved. We have made him pose with a bow and arrow, giving him a Robin Hood look." Kajol: One of the most interesting shoots, Dabboo has done for the project has been with Kajol. "This is Kajol like you have never seen her before. We have shot her riding a bike on the highway with the look of a roadie. Her zest for life and free spirited attitude has been amazingly captured in the picture." Abhishek: With Bachchan Jr, Dabboo has focused on the actor's eyes. "He is hot in the industry right now, but I didn't want to portray him in that light. His eyes speak volumes, so we have used that to our advantage." Mallika Sherawat: She will be seen for the first time on the calendar. "We have created a fantasy-fiction environment for her picture. There has been post-production work done, where we have birds flying in the background, and it looks straight out of a dream." March on, Dabboo
Rajeev Chudasama of Marching Ants has designed the calendar and there is a mix and match of both monotones and coloured pictures. It takes Dabboo around eight months to complete each calendar.
"I usually try to get fresh pictures for the calendar, but if time doesn't permit, then I use stills I've clicked in recent times. The idea is to present the actor in a look no one has ever seen."
