Rani ki kahani Apni Rani has been super busy lately. Ever since she returned to Mumbai after spending three months in New York for Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, the actress has been inundated with telephone calls and SMSes.
And in between she took off from Mumbai again for good friend Aamir's wedding.
Now that she is back, she says, "I hope people understand. I don't mean to be rude but I have been so busy that I haven't found time to reply to SMSes or return calls."
We know from experience, that Rani like Mr. Bachchan, always returns calls and messages. The communication may be delayed, but it always comes. The world loves people with immaculate manners, and we are no different.
A thumbs-up for Shikhar Mona Kapoor went to see John Mathew Matthan's Shikhar with her mom and daughter and guess what...? They loved it! "My mom and I love Ajay Devgan's films and my mom insists on seeing each and every one of them.
When we went to see Shikhar, we were pleasantly surprised. It's such a beautiful and welcome change from films like Garam Masala and other mindless comedies with double meanings and sexual innuendoes."
And to all the people who found Shikhar way too preachy, Mona says, "The problem with people today is they are so used to watching mediocre films that they have started liking and accepting them as the criterion for being good films. So when a film like Shikhar comes along, they don't recognize a genuinely good film when they see one." We guess you will be hearing from Matthan soon, Mona darling!
Who is the sucker here? Ok, so now we know Aamir won't publicise his next film, Rang De Basanti, because he is miffed with the media for accusing him of using them to just promote his films.
We also know that he had given strict instructions to everybody around him not to let the media cover his marriage, but yet they covered it — some even went overboard. But what a strange co-incidence that people failed to realise was how well-timed his wedding was (December 28), when the release of Rang De Basanti, is just around the corner (January 16).
With the media giving publicity to the wedding, Aamir and Rang De Basanti ("this will be Aamir's next release" etc), the film has probably got more free publicity than even Aamir could have given to it, had he promoted the film. Smart move, Mr Khan! Get your film covered through your wedding — or any event that comes your way.
John goes back to Kabul Yesterday John Abraham and Arshad Warsi went back to Kabul in Afghanistan for the remaining portion of Kabir Khan's Kabul Express. The actor made a quiet recovery at home, after his viral attack and subsequent release from hospital.
One of his favorite ladies, his mom, took care of him and nursed him back to health while girlfriend Bipasha kept a stern vigil at his bedside not even stirring when her film Shikhar released. Incidentally, this film has fetched her quite a few kudos for her performance.
Bips seems to grow better and better each passing day. But we are missing our vrrooom- vrrooom, hot and happening, Johny baba. He has been keeping a low-profile ever since his illness. One wonders why?
