This is my opinion about the TV shows of 2005.
1) Kkavyanjali: I think this show tops the list because it has a nice storyline, great characters the TRP's raised very rapidly, as soon as Ejaz entered. He shared great chemistry with Natasha, which caused the TRP's to rise. KA took the place of KTH, and now, it is one of the top shows. KA won many awards, including best jodi. I'm sure they'll dominate the Star Parivaar Awards next year. Although KA are separated, I'd like to see them get back together in 2006.
2) Kumkum- Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan: I love this show because it is not from Balaji's camp and it doesn't separate the main leads (unlike all Ekta shows). Sumit and Kumkum have gone through a lot but they are still together because of their love and trust in each other. That's the highlight of this show, their jodi is perfect. Also, thankfully, Sumit didn't get married 2 or 3 times like Karan, Kavya, Abhimanyu and other male leads. Samir Soni also left a lasting impact on the show, with his righteous lawyer image. Overall, it was a really good show and the re-entry of Anju Saxena was another highlight. I'm sure it'll do very well in the coming year.
3) Time Bomb 9/11: Expectations were enormous from this show, due to Rajeev's presence and the theme of the show. It received a lot of publicity and grabbed the attention of the media as well as the public, I think it received mixed reactions, but I really loved this show. I enjoyed every episode so far, and Rajeev was amazing as Varun. The action and storyline was very nice too. This is one of the few new shows in 2005 that left a lasting impression.
4) Astitva Ek Prem Kahani: This show is one of the best shows on TV, a refreshing change from Ekta's drama. Astitva is ending in 2006 but it has managed to maintain a gripping storyline and wonderful performances (by Simran, Abhi, Astha, etc) for the past few years. The director is smart enough to end this show now, before viewers begin to criticize it.
5) Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin: This show is also supposed to end in February 2006. Another show that I found to be so unique and a pleasant change (especially in the beginning). Jassi & Armaan both won ITA awards, since this is their last year. The story got a little puzzling in the middle but I think it will end on a good note. This is one show that I'll miss in 2006.
6) Kaise Yeh Pyar Hai: Another good and fun show when it began. Unfortunately, I'm sure it'll turn boring and identical to other Ekta shows by next year. Both Iqbal and Neha did a great job as newcomers. I really liked their pair.
7) Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki: I like this show better than KSBKBT because of the moving performances by Parvati, Kamal & Shruti. KGGK had a good year, with many changes. Om died and Mr. Suresh entered the show. It started to interest me again. And Parvati looked really beautiful, even in white sarees.
8) Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: As usual, this show led the TRP's. Although it's dragging on, must admit that it has still managed to keep viewers interested. I don't expect anything new from this show in 2006 but am sure that the ratings will remain high.
9) Kusum: One sensible decision by Ekta was to end this show. For the first time, I agreed with her. I was never a fan of this boring and confusing show. And it got worse after Kusum got changed so many times, by different actresses. I still think Nausheen was the best. The entry of the youngsters didn't really do anything for the show. It was going nowhere and I thank god that it is finally coming to an end. Hopefully, there will be a better show that will take over it's place in 2006.
10) Kahin To Hoga: Two words: Pure crap. It was the worst show on TV, seriously needs to go off air, as soon as possible. The show became lifeless after Rajeev left, Amna & Gurpreet's acting was so dull and lackluster, and none of the other cast members (with the exception of Rishi & Aksha) hardly made any impact at all.
