It's a lesser-known fact that actress Esha Deol went hunting for a pooch in pet shops across Napoli in Italy while shooting for Shaadi No 1. Her best buy, as Deol claims, is her one-year-old shitzu named Piccolla (meaning little girl in Italian). Girl's best friend:

An ardent dog lover, the actress says that she had been craving for a shitzu since her childhood days, when she was addicted to watching the popular Disney cartoon series, The Lady And The Tramp.
"That was the first time I'd spotted a shitzu and I promised to get myself one, some day," she adds.
Piccolla flew in first class
The actress informs that she tends to get bored easily and wants constant company on her sets and tours abroad for shows. Although there are four dogs (a St Bernard, a golden retriever, a cocker spaniel and a pomeranian) at home, she was on the look out for a lapdog that could tag along with her.
Says Deol, "My mom (Hema Malini) was in Los Angeles at that point and I had asked her to scout around for a cute pup. I was frequenting the pet shops in Napoli when I first saw tiny Piccolla and I couldn't take my eyes off her. On the spur of the moment, I bought her and flew her down in first class by shelving her in a warm basket."
Sleeping with Esha
Now Piccolla refuses to leave the actor even for a minute. Deol pampers her by playing with her, taking her for morning walks and even to a dog salon in Bandra.
Says Deol, "She is my Barbie doll and I get her clips and other accessories all the time. And of course she has got the best bed in the house as she sleeps with me. She has become my habit as she wakes me up in the morning, watches movies with me and even attempts at making me crack up with her antics when I get stressed out."
Travelling with Esha
Piccolla was the only company she had on July 26, as the actress made her way through chest-deep water to reach home.
"She has been travelling everywhere with me. I ensure with the hotel I'm staying in, that pets are allowed. Unfortunately, I couldn't take her to Bangkok while shooting for Pyare Mohan, as pets were not allowed there. At that time, I would speak to her on the speakerphone and she would bark in return to acknowledge what I say."
She's a jealous bitch
Coming to eating habits, Piccolla loves gorging on tomatoes and vanilla ice cream from Naturals. As far as other habits are concerned, the actress informs, "When I'm gearing up to leave the house for some shoot, she climbs up the seat of my car, even before I step in. After having a nice bath she'll go and roll on the dirtiest spot in the house. She will get so jealous when I pat other dogs."
