Hm...good one.
First off, if they are extremely angry, try to help. If they yell at you to back off, back off and let them cool down. Let them know that they aren't scaring you and them there anger issues are/can hurt people. Tell them to learn to control their temper because people like that can usually end up lonely. And also let them know that you will always be there for them.
Worked for me :D

That's real difficult one, Aish.

I would say there are two things you can do. Either prepare your mind so strongly that no matter how much time you spend with them, you won't pick up their bad habits. I think if you are determined enough, you won't. And then you can maintain the friendship and maybe even prove to be a good influence on those friends and get them rid of their habits.

If you really think this is going nowhere and you might end up in trouble, then just end the friendship. Let them know that you've got nothing against them and you want to keep it that way. Your ways are different and there's nothing you can do about it anymore. Be up front and let them, I hope they are not sort of obsessed because then you might have to take help of some authority.

Good advice Mahi!
The best way to deal with arrogant people who think that the world revolves around them is to talk to them and tell them that they're behavior isn't acceptable. Be a bit fierce if needed. If they don't listen, ignore them and keep your head held high. Act like you don't care, because if they realize that they aren't bothering you, the arrogance may stop after a while.
