Hello Twinkle,
I came upon this topic and cannot help but observe that the topic is not in very good taste.
I checked your topic and did see a lot of thank yous - and mind you, IF does discourage simple 'Thank Yous'. However, I understand that when you work on something for others, it feels nice to be appreciated - for some that is the whole point, for others, it's just the sharing part which counts :)
I am sure that many appreciate your efforts. Nonetheless, unfortunately, appreciation cannot be forced. If you try to force your hand, it will only antagonise others. Moreover, in a public forum like this one, where everyone shares information, they too deserve the gratitude just as you do. Sharing, you see, is the key.
Trust me, everyone does appreciate your work, it's just that they appreciate others too. As it's not viable to post different links and updates for the same topic, they need to make use of an existing topic. That definitely does not mean they should not be thanked....in fact you too should also thank the person for updating your topic. That way, you not only always have control over the topic you have posted, you also come across as a generous person willing to share on a public forum.
Hope this helps.
I am closing this topic, if you have any other queries, do pm me.
Regards
Minnie
