As you all Know that many channels are suspended in pakistan for a week now which included these famous names like STAR PLUS,ZEE TV,SONY,SUPER SPORTS,B4U,AND MORE...Well this is so because PEMRA(PAKISTAN ELECTRONIC MEDIA REGULATROY AUTHORITY) did it so...The reason is that these channels were running in pakistan forr nearly a decade but they were never registered means that they have not paid the amounts and fulfilled the terms and conditions required for an international channel to run....THE PRESIDENT OF PEMRA said in an interview that channels like STAR PLUS and SONY are earning over Rs 15 million just from pakistan and haven't paid any amount for being brodcasted internationally and this happens globally that if you are to brodcast a channel in any other country you need to take rights from the orgnaization of that country which they haven't done....NOW HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT SOME CHANNELS LIKE (ZOOM,ESPN-STAR SPORTS) and more are still running because they have taken rights from PEMRA...further he said he has not closed the channels to benefit local channels but for the benefit of Media in pakistan and to regularize the system of electronic media in pakistan....at the end he also mentioned that the channels are contacting PEMRA NOW...and the channnels will be RE-OPENED as soon as they are registered.
