Double role for Anjorie
If rumours are to be believed, Anjorie Alagh will be recreating Hema Malini's magic from the movie Seeta Aur Geeta on the small screen. This will be the first time a double role is played on television.
SEETA Aur Geeta was a blockbuster directed by Ramesh Sippy in 1972. It starred Hema Malini in the lead where she portrayed the double role of Seeta and Geeta, twins who were separated. Other cast members included Sanjeev Kumar and Dharmendra.
The TV version of the movie will also be called Seeta Aur Geeta and will most likely have 1920 star Anjorie Alagh playing the double role. Gaurav Dixit will portray the character played by Dharmendra and Cezanne Khan, of Kasauti Zindagi Kay, will be seen playing Sanjeev Kumar's role.
Cezanne Khan says, "I won't be able to talk about it but all I can say is that we have been shooting for it for quite some time now."
Shailaja, the programming head of NDTV Imagine says, "The show will commence post the IPL; probably next month. Its timeslot hasn't been decided on yet."
Mouni Roy was initially approached to play the lead role and Raahil Azam of Babul Ka Aangan fame was to play Dharmendra's role. However, Raahil has been suffering from malaria and was not able to shoot. Hence he was replaced by Gaurav Dixit.
