Kar - are you serious?
KK - just as you haven't loved anyone as much as Tia...I've never loved anyone as much as Roshni...and now that she's mine, I can't afford to lose her at any cost.....even to you....your my brother and I love you...but I love her more
KK lies down, Karan looks at him again then lies down.
Part 31
Karan wakes up, he looks over at KK and sees him sleeping pacefully, he notices him holding Roshni's picture close to him and frowns, he goes to his bathroom and has a shower and goes downstairs, he walks in to the garde and sits on the grass and looks up at the clouds and closes his eyes. He doesn't realise when Angad sits beside him and nudges him, Karan turns his head and looks at him.
Kar - hey dad, what's up?
A - we've fixed the date for the engagement, its next week on saturday
Kar - next saturday? isn't that too soon?
A - yeah but better to get it done now
Kar - its too soon
A - we had this conversation yesterday, I kow you're worried whether you'll keep Roshni happy but you will
Kar - dad remember when me and KK were younger, KK has this toy and I wanted it and you told KK to give it to me and that you'd buy him another one?
A - yeah?
Kar - you never did, you did that a lot, give me something KK wanted and he always let you
A - because he's your brother and he loves you. You know I wish I had the same relationship with my brother like you have with yours.....when mum and dad got divorced and dad wet to Australia and Bhai went with him, it hurt me a lot, the thought of never seeing him again, it was unbareable, but over the years I learnt to live without him and then he began to change, so much that I began hating him and we fell out, but then we sorted things out and began getting along again when he passed away
Kar - I hate to interrupt ...but what's your point?
A - when I look at you and your brother, I see glimpses of Bhai in you, KK more so....but you as well, and now you're getting married its as if my brother is getting married, and its as if part of my unfulfilled dream to see Bhai get married is slowly coming true
Kar - dad I never knew you felt like that....
A - well, I don't show it often
Karan leans towards Angad and hugs him, Angad smiles and goes back inside, Karan gets up and slowly follows, he heads upstairs and passes his parent's bedroom, he glances inside and sees Angad looking at Kunal's phoot with a garland of flowers on, he notices Angad wipe a tear away, Karan looks sad, he turns and heads downstairs and leaves the house, he gets in his car and drives to Roshni's house, he calls her outside and both stand by his car silently.
R - what did you want to talk about?
Kar - I think we should go through with it....
R - the engagement? we agreed we would until we find a way to sort things out
Kar - no I mean the marriage
R - are you out of your mind?
Kar - just hear me out first
R - no! you've gone mad....seriously do you know what you're saying?
Kar - OK! you know what....you go tell your parents that you don't want to marry me because I don't have the heart to tell mine, to break their hearts or my dad's dream!
R - fine I'll tell them
Kar - good...tell me how it goes
Karan turns and gets in to his car and drives off, Roshni heads back in to her house, she rushes upstairs to her parent's bedroom, she goes inside ready to talk to them but stops when she sees Kashish holding something
R - mum what's that?
Kashish looks up and smiles, she puts it down and walks over to Roshni and makes her sit on the bed, she picks it up and holds it out
Ka - its my wedding lengha....that I wore when your father and I got married....
Kashish puts the dupatta on Roshni's head
Ka - now I want you to wear this at your wedding....
R - mama...
Ka - I can't believe you're going to be getting married already....my little baby has grown so big that she's going to leave...I want you to promise me one thing...
R - what?
Ka - that you'll do everything you can to make sure you keep your in laws happy, and that you won't do anything that will embaress me or your dad
Roshni bites her bottom lip.
R - I promise
Kashish hugs her, Sujal stands behind them
S - what? don't I get a hug?
Roshni stands up and hugs him, he kisses her forehead then smiles
S - ever since you were born, your mom kept telling me not to spoil you too much because you will only end up leaving us, I never paid attention to her, but now I understand, it hurts knwoing that you're going to be going away from us very soon...
Roshni's eyes water, she hugs Sujal harder then suddenly lets go and runs to her room, she shuts the door and leans back against it, she holds back her tears and walks over to her cupboard, she takes out KK's photo looks at it and begins crying, she wipes her tears away and puts the photo back, she sits on her bed and reaches for her phone, she calls Karan back to the house, she goes outside to meet him, he looks at her
Kar - well...what happened? did you tell them?
Roshni slowly shakes her head
Kar - yeah thought not....it was hard wasn't it? seeing the dreams and hopes your parents have for you
R - yes...
Kar - exactly...that's what happened when I spoke to dad....now do you understand why I said we should go through with the marriage....for our parents sake?
Roshni looks up at him, she bites her bottom lip holding back her tears and slowly nods
Kar - ok.....you're going to have to talk to KK....
R - I can't!
Karan puts his hand on her shoulder
Kar - I know its hard, but you have to....just like I have to talk to Tia
R - but...
Kar - no buts...we'll go to Tia's house....you stay in the car while I talk to Tia...then I'll take you home so you can speak to KK....ok?
Roshni slowly nods her head and gets in to the car, Karan drives them to Tia's house, Roshni stays in the car while Karan gets out, he goes inside and goes to see Tia. She smiles when she sees him and hugs him
Kar - we need to talk
Karan pulls away from her and makes her sit on the bed
T - what is it?
Kar - you know I love you right?
T - yeah
Kar - and that's never going to change.....ever
T - yeah I know
Kar - no matter what happens....I will always love you....
T - Karan, what is it...
Kar - I know you might hate me after this, but I have no choice
Karan holds her hands and kneels down in front of her, he kisses her softly then leans back
Kar - I have to marry Roshni
Tia pulls her hands away and looks at him angrily, Karan gets up and turns away from her, he closes his eyes knwoing very well how much she's hurting
Kar - I'm sorry Tia...but I can't let my parents down....and if marrying her is what they want then I have to marry her
T - but.....you promised...
Karan turns and looks at her heart broken face
Kar - I'm sorry...
He reaches out to touch her but she pushes his hand away and slaps him
T - how dare you! one day you come here telling me you won't marry her...promising me you won't marry her....then the next you're here telling me you love me but you're going to marry her? What do you take me as?
Kar - I know you're angry, but you need to understand....
T - understand what? that you're leaving me......for Roshni? the girl your brother loves..
Kar - this is hard on me too....I didn't just make this decison without thinking it over...I'm sorry
Karan turns to leave, but Tia stops him, she holds his hands and looks at him pleadingly
T - please Karan,.....don't do this....you know how much I love you....
Kar - Tia don't....
T - we'll figure it out....just don't go
Kar - I'm sorry
Karan slowly takes his hands from hers and leaves the room, Tia stands there looking stunned, she falls to the ground wanting to cry her heart out but knows if her parents hear then she won't know what to say, she stays there until Ria comes in to the room wondering what Karan wanted, when she sees Tia like that she closes the door and rushes over to her, she picks her up and makes her sit on her bed
Ri - what happened?
T - he's going to leave me....he's going to marry her Di.....h's going to marry Roshni!
Ria looks shocked, she comforts Tia and makes it a point to talk to Aryan. Karan gets in to the car, he breathes deeply, he senses Roshni looing at him but he doesn't look at her, he starts the car and drives, Roshni stays quiet, they arrive at the Khanna Mansion and both of them get out of the car and go in to the house
Kar - mum where's KK?
K - the gym,...oh hey Roshni
R - hi aunty
Kar - come on
They leave the kitchen and stand outside the gym, Karan looks at her
Kar - you have to do this alone...I'll be in my room
Karan leaves, Roshni slowly opens the door to the gym and finds KK punching a bag, he sees her and stops, she shuts the door and sits on a chair, KK goes over to her and kisses her cheek
KK - I know I smell a bit so I'll go shower
KK turns to go but Roshni holds his hand, KK turns, he looks at her and sits in front of her
KK - everything ok?
R - nothing is ok
KK - Roshni.......speak to me
R - I've loved you ever since I can remember
KK - I know
R - but I never had the guts to tell you thinking you wouldn't love me back....but then you find out and you fall in love with me
KK smiles
R - but when we love each other....Angad chachu begins to think I love Karan and decides to get us married.....why KK? why is it when we finally become each others....we're getting seperated?
KK - we'll sort it out......I mean its not like you're marrying him.....you're just getting engaged
Roshni looks at him then looks away with tears in her eyes
KK - Roshni.....look at me
Roshni slowly looks at him with tears streaming down her face
R - I can't let mom and dad down....I can't let them face any embaressment
KK - Roshni, you don't know what you're saying...you're giving up too easily...Karan and me...we'll sort something out
R - but he's already told Tia....
KK - Karan's told Tia......wait....Karan said he'll marry you?
R - yes...
KK turns to leave, Roshni gets up and stops him
R - KK wait...don't get angry please....we have no choice
KK - get out of the way
R - KK...calm down, think rationally....
KK - move!
Roshni gets scared, she slowly moves out of the way, KK angrily leaves the gym and heads upstairs to confront Karan.
Coming up - KK's confrontation with Karan gets ugly, Ria and Aryan stuck in the middle not knowing what to do, Tia ends up in hospital
OK there the next part......and I am seriously very sorry for not updating sooner...I' still job hunting...this part mainly Karan n Roshni, like i sed the next few parts might get a bit sad n depressing but don't forget to read😊
