27TH DEC--NERVE RECKING TENSION @ THE INDIAN IDOL STUDIO
š
There is no shortage of high-end drama and emotions when it comes to Indian Idol.
The results episode started with Nakash Aziz fearing an upset, as he was rude to the judges in the previous episode.
It's his father's birthday today
and he just wants to give one gift to his father - his entry to the galas. Will that happen or will the audience dampen the spirits of his father's birthday? Well read on⦠Each of the seven contestants had a story to share. Amey Date, a hot favourite amongst the judges, felt Panna Gill could perform very well but may lose out on the singing part. Javed Khan and Desh Gaurav Singh were considered to be not much of a contest by Panna and Sandeep Acharaya. Well, well we see quite a battle heating up. This is where Aman Verma steps in to cool off things and the seven contenders are asked to perform one last time, all together, on stage. The song - 'Halka Halka Sa' from 'Chocolate' and the response - fabulous!
What followed was reality time. Javed and Desh, who somewhere knew they didn't stand much chance, were announced to be out of the competition.
Time for Nakash who feared the worst may come true. Unfortunately that's what happened. This Mumbai boy was voted out by the audience and he simply couldn't control his emotions on stage. Apologising to the judges for his rude behaviour the previous night and then to his parents for breaking their dream, Nakash had no choice but to accept the decision and move on. So three down meant that Amey, Panna, Sandeep and Anuj Sharma had made it to the top four. Reality was about the strike and nervousness was leading to anxious faces on stage. One of these four talented persons would have to go back and pursue his dreams outside the purview of Indian Idol. Who would it be? Not just the contestants but also the judges looked stunned when the name of the highest vote gatherer was announced. Sandeep Acharaya from Bikaner had won the maximum amount of votes. Sonu Nigam was speechless for quite a while, as he just couldn't digest that someone like Sandeep, who was good, but not the best was able to generate the maximum votes. š š"I am losing faith in the audience," he proclaimed but congratulated Sandeep with just one piece of advice, "Let us see your original self. You are here purely by the grace of luck. Talent is no more a criteria. By virtue of the fact that you are here means you are talented. Good luckā¦all the best". Next in line was Panna Gill who won the second highest votes. . "Panna, you have the X factor in you and that's what has saved you," declared Farah Khan who was more curious to find out who amongst her two favourites - Amey and Anuj - would be out of the show.
X-FACTOR While upsets have become the trend in Indian Idol Series 2, Anu Malik may well not be prepared for what was coming. His heart would sink anyways as both Amey and Anuj were his personal favourites too. The moment the name of Amey Date was announced, one saw the stern and rock-steady Anu become emotional. This was followed by an outburst of emotion by someone in the audience tooā¦Anuj's fianc just couldn't believe Anuj was voted out. "Something is seriously wrong," she said. Be it the audience, the contestants or the judges, shocks were inevitable in this episode. Sonu Nigam openly condemned the audience's voting pattern. He felt that Amey should have got the maximum vote and not Sandeep and also supported the choice of Anuj Sharma. "If I had a chance I would want to know from the audience why have they voted out deserving candidates," said Sonu.
The fun of reality television continues as Sandeep Acharaya, Panna Gill and Amey Date join the league of the gala rounds in Indian Idol Series 2. With nine chosen and three more to go, we are inching towards the choice of the Agla Indian Idol. Have you voted yet!
