Ageing Aishwarya Rai insecure without make-update

According to sources, director Mani Ratnam asked Aishwarya to put no make-up for her look in the second half of the film 'Raavan'. But Mrs Jr Bachchan refused to do so. The no make-up look was in accordance to the demand of the story, wherein, Abhishek's character abducts her and Ash's character undergoes a major transformation.

A source told to a news daily, "Mani wants to showcase her character without make-up in the second half. He believes that since she's separated from her husband, the raw look is important to express the loss and pain she's going through."

But what the Bachchan bahu would do is to sneak-out and return with basic make-up. "There were times when Ash would sneak and put basic make-up and only then, do the shot. Mani would spot the slightest sliver of make-up and would ask her to go back and remove it," said the source.

The source further said that neither Aishwarya nor Mani Ratnam would back out on this issue. Aishwarya believed that basic make-up will not make much of a difference but Mani Ratnam did not agree.

Evidently, Aishwarya does not want to appear onscreen without make-up as more than her acting skills, her age would show.

good gosh....you know i kinda feel bad for Aishwarya...ever since she came to light in 1994, the only thing shes REALLY been famous for is her beauty and now that is starting to fade...i mean shes gonna be 35 this year so its going to start showing...i really hope that she is able to accept it...there are a lot of beautiful people who arent able to accept that they are getting on in years and end up making wrong plastic surgery decisions. i hope shes not one of those girls...although im not a fan of her acting, i think that she is a beautiful woman and im definitely in awe of her beauty.

Anyway I think Ash is still gorgeous & a very good actress too...c'mon she looks beautiful even without make up......don't believe this rumours........going against the director and the chori chori childish behaviour......that's so not Ash!.......let's wait for the movie

I doubt she's insecure about make up b/c she did choker bali, raincoat, and part sof Provoked without make-up. She only had eye-liner and lip gloss on for kajra re, and she hardly wore make-up in Guru. She's anything but insecyre b/c she has done the no make up look. I think she looks lovely without make up, and should consider wearing less of it!!

Now that's breaking news to us. One of the most beautiful ladies in the world, Aishwarya Rai just can't take off her make-up.

Apparently, Mani Ratnam instructed Ash to carry a no make-up look in the second half of Raavan. It's that point in the movie when Abhishek abducts Aishwarya. The director believed that her deglam avatar was important to express the loss and pain the character is going through.

Despite Mani's directions, Ash appeared on the set with basic make-up on. But she couldn't escape eagle-eyed Mani.

This became a major issue as neither Ash nor Mani backed down from their positions.
