Dear Fans,
Chotti Bahu was a big releif for the viewers who were tired of the usual TV soaps - serials - a releif, a pleasure and motivation. But alas! its taking the same direction. Any story if told in limited episodes will have sense - everyone can get a chance to see the stroy in full. In todays life style if stories are told with many years. even one third of its viewers could not watch the story in full. if the intention is to tell a good story tell it within few months.
The charm of CB is it gives imprtance to the values of life - good sanskar, family bonds, sacrifice, culture , nobility, many virtues in life which unfortunately is becoming alien to the new generation. It is worth watching with the family as our young ones get to know good principles and manners that make life meaningful.
But tell the story and dont' drag too much.

Hi Shama, Welcome to CB and I-F. I agree about the limited episode thing. Unfortunately its not just about telling a good story. Most producers are in it for business. And they care about making money. Once a serial becomes a rage.. people start identifying with the characters, loving them, the serial and characters become a golden goose for them. So they drag the story till they milk every penny out of its attraction to viewers. Then eventually the story is dragged and battered so much that viewers loose interest and then the story ends but by that time the show has completely lost its initial charm. Sad. But reality.

There was feature in DD long time ago as my friend tells me where i think they told lots of short stories limiting the number of episodes. And the stories were really good too. Wish the current popular channels would understand this concept too.

Yes in my childhood, DD used to show great serials with a max of 15 - 20 episodes. Can you believe that? But it used to be shown once a week. But now it is all about money so we have to put up with these snail paced serials.

I had been just a reader in this forum that too only for CB. Like many I share the views that CB is unnecessarily dragging. Specially Mr. Dev just doesn't seem to understand anything. In 8th Apr episode where he asks Radhika if she is willing to participate in the drama proposed by "the great Amma ji" and come with him to Purohit bhavan, he couldn't care ONE TIME to talk to Radhika face to face !! It didn't happen in today's episode either. These things seem like dragging the story unnecessarily.
Anyway I joined the forum after reading "shamaindia" comments on Short stories. I understand doing business is important, but at least the Indian serial writers/creators/producers.... why can't they define a limit of 1 year at the max? This way they get enough time for $$$ and enough for not letting viewers getting bored and let the story move in a normal pace.
I hate the way how they show female lead actress suffering all the time. Half of the telecast time is either shown crying or slow movements or whenever anybody says that's important/shocking how each characters facial reaction is...so the camera goes....zoom....zoom.... left/right....top/bottom...in all directions for all characters. Wish somebody sensible can do the direction/editing of our Hindi soaps.
