Radhika wants to leave but Shashtri ji makes her stay.
Dev comes to Shashtri ji and apologize for his behavior in the past and says he will not let him regret getting his daughter married to Dev.
Vaishali hands all the responsibilities to Vishakha.
Vishakha talks to Dev about keeping his promise about her starting her life fresh and away from him.
Dev tells Vish he wants to accept her as his wife whole heartedly.
My comments :
Vish is extremely selfish. I can't believe she couldn't wait a few days to bring this up to both Vaishali and Dev.
It was great fun watching Vish's face change with each responsibility that was being given to the "choti bahu" š
Amma, Devki boring as usual!
I am very upset about this whole husband wife thing. I mean okay you find Radhika responsible and don't want anything to do with her but how can you forget your love so soon that you want to accept Vish as your wife????
I am losing my patience with this play very fast'I hope the creatives do something about it QUICK!!!
Part 1
Show starts with Radhika remembering everything Dev told her. She says Kanha, he finds me responsible for all this, he hates me so much that he wants to push me away even from his thoughts forever. She says if he can think I'm so terrible and forget me then let it be. I will not stay here another minute. She gathers her stuff and starts to leave and Amma and family return to the dharamshala at that time. Amma asks her what she is doing there and why hasn't she returned yet. She says where are you going with this stuff? Radhika says I am going from here. Amma says see this girl, now she is going to Vish's sasural to ruin her married life. She must be thinking that after the death, everyone's heart is vulnerable so she will sweet talk them and they will kick Vish out of the house and keep her there. Devki says don't say this Amma and where are you going Radhika? Radhika says I am going back to Vrindavan, my stuff had come here with your stuff so I am just taking it and going back. Devki says but it will be night in a while and we don't know how far the bus stop is from here. Devki says go tomorrow morning. Amma says why are you stopping her? Let her go now, she came alone from Vridavan to here so what trouble is she going to face now? Go get out of here. Radhika starts to leave.
Part 2
As Radhika is leaving, she meets Shashtri ji outside. He says what are you doing here? When did you come and where are you going with your stuff? She says I am going back to Vrindavan. Shashtri ji asks her why? Don't you know what happened here? Your tears tell me you are aware of it. He asks if Amma has forbidden her from staying here, she says no it's nothing like that it's just that. Shashtri ji says that's it not another word from you, let's go inside. Radhika says no I won't go back now, I want to go back to Vrindavan, the house is empty. Shashtri ji says a home is with the people who live there and since everyone is here you will feel it is empty there anyways. He says we will leave together after the chautha (4th day ritual). Amma is asking Devki for water and asks Shashtri ji if he wants water as he walks in. He says Radhika and she walks in. Amma and Devki are surprised. Shashtri ji says I am going to take a shower and walks away. Devki says drink your water Amma, Amma says like I can gulp this water down now. She says what I feared happened, lalla will not let her leave and she will stay here. She prays to thakur ji to keep Vish safe and give Dev the power to think straight.
At Purohit house, no one is eating, all are crying. Dev looks at his dad's empty chair. Birju comes there and daadi says no. Vish starts to eat and looks at Dev who just stares at her in disbelief. She puts her spoon down. Dev walks away from the dinning table. Vish is walking away and daadi asks her to help with the puja. Vish says all the work is done now can I go rest daadi maa? Daadi says yes but Vaishali comes and says there are some people who have come and they want to meet you so go and meet them first. Vish is with them and as soon as they leave, she starts to go up the stairs and calls Dev but Daadi calls her by then and gives her a list that the pundit ji has given for the chautha and asks her to check it to make sure nothing is left off. Vish says sure I will and crumples up the paper and throws it away in anger as soon as daadi leaves.
Part 3
Vish says to Dev I want to talk to you about us, about our future. Dev says please I am very upset right now so perhaps I will not be able to answer you properly. Vish says even I am upset because I don't understand what's going to happen with us and if I don't ask this question now, when should I ask it, after my life is ruined? Dev says I know your anger is justified but I won't be able to discuss this even if I want to. Please there is a time for everything and this is not the time for these discussions and he walks away. Vish says he is so strange, when I didn't want to go, he was convincing me and now that I am convinced, sheesh what a joke. She says I am not a puppet to dance on his tunes, she says I know it all, no one here cares about me.
Everyone is gathered in the living room for another mourning. People leave slowly and Shashtri ji gets up and tells daadi that though we can't fill the void that Purohit ji has left but if we can do anything please let us know. Daadi says just keep your blessings on Dev. Shashtri ji says he will always have that and asks Vish to take care of everyone in her sasural. He tells her they will be leaving for Vrindavan first thing in the morning. Shashtri ji tells Dev may GOD give you the strength to deal with everything and fulfill all your duties. If you need anything then please definitely remember us.
Next day morning Shastri family is preparing to leave and there is a knock on the door. Shashtri ji asks Radhika to check and she sees Dev at the door but he is looking away. She closes the curtain and hides behind it. Dev walks in. Amma is shocked to see him. Shashtri ji is happy to see him, Radhika is hiding behind the curtain, Amma tells her to leave. Shashtri ji asks Radhika to get lemonade for Dev and Amma leaves saying I will go check. Shashtri ji asks if Vish is coming too and Dev says no I came alone. Shashtri ji says is everything okay? Dev says yes all is well but I came to apologize to you. Shashtri ji says for what? Dev says because I was really troubled in the last few days and each time I met you during that time, I didn't talk to you properly or meet you nicely and you must have found it to be weird too right? Shashtri ji says no now that we know you used to be troubled. Dev says I came to assure you that you will not have a chance for any complaints moving forward. I will not let you realize that you have made a mistake by getting me married to your daughter. Radhika can hear all this and Amma asks her to hurry up. Shashtri ji says I never thought this about you, thakur ji has created your jodi. Amma comes out with the lemonade. Dev says will you please listen to my request and stay back a few more days? Shashtri ji says but, Dev says after dad, I feel very empty and my work load has increased so much that I am not able to give Vish any time. If you stay here we won't feel this emptiness much. Shashtri ji agrees. Amma is shocked and upset. Devki is happy. Dev says I am leaving, Shashtri ji says eat before leaving, Dev says no and Shashtri ji says I listened to you, now you will have to listen to me. Eat before you leave. Amma and Devki share the same worried look as always.
In the Purohit house, Vaishali is standing infront of Purohit ji's picture and crying. Vish comes there and says I know this is not the right time to talk to you but I feel that he took this decision in a haste, he wants to go to America and now he is being forced to stay back. Vaishali says you are right, he took this decision swayed by emotions but not by force. All the paths were open for him yesterday and today but he chose to stay here because he loves his family and respects them. She says trust me Vish, Dev will be very happy here. You are his life partner and if you support him, he will be able to fulfill his duties just the way his dad had fulfilled. She says all the traditions I have been following, you will have to do them from today.
Radhika is making food and Amma is serving Dev and Shashtri ji. Amma signals Devki to close the curtain to the kitchen so Dev can't see Radhika. Devki goes in the kitchen to get roti and Amma closes the curtain. Radhika can't see Dev anymore.
Vaishali is taking Vish around the house explaining the daily routine she will have to follow now starting at 4 AM puja. She says the kitchen is now yours, I took care of it for 30 years. She says daadi had told me that a married woman forgets everything for her family and I forgot everything taking care of this house and my family. I am giving this responsibility to you now. Vish is thinking I am sick and tired of these words, traditions etc. she says all this has happened because of Dev. Dev walks in and she says I need to talk to you. He says now? She says yes now and don't tell me this is not the right time because if things continue like this then the right time will never come. She says I can't do all this. He asks what? She says the same thing all these people want me to do. She says my life has turned upside down. I don't understand what am I? She says I had to change myself because of you first and now because of your family I have to become someone I am not. Dev says what do you mean? Vish says how will you understand me, my dreams, my aim, have you ever tried? Dev says what are you saying? Vish says listen I know you are not in the mood to talk about all this right now but I just want to remind you of the promise you made me that we will be separated when you go to America. I will be able to start my life fresh all over again and you will help me with that. I will get my freedom. She says you promised me, didn't you? Dev says yes but now we are not going to America. I have already told everyone that I am going to stay here and not even talk about leaving. Vish says you can't do this to me, you will have to keep the promise you made me. Dev says that's what I want to do. Vish is like what? Dev says I want to keep the promises I made to you infront of the fire. I want to finish this naatak and accept our relationship whole heartedly. He says we will stay as husband and wife now. Vish is shocked!
Precap : Radhika says such a big thing has happened in your house and if at this time you will talk about leaving how smart is that? Vish says oh you are trying to make me understand? Radhika says no it's not like that. Vish tells her enough!
